The Truth About Contractor Material Receipts: Why Professional Contractors Don't Share Supplier Invoices

ATM Builders LLC does not provide supplier invoices, purchase confirmations, or vendor receipts. Our proposals are based on a fixed price for materials and services—not reimbursement of our actual costs.

Material pricing reflects far more than the supplier's invoice. It includes procurement, transportation, handling, warranty administration, inventory management, business overhead, and the responsibility we assume for furnishing those materials. Like most contractors, retailers, and service providers, our material pricing is based on our established pricing structure rather than our acquisition cost.

Our supplier pricing, discounts, rebates, and purchasing agreements are confidential business information and are considered proprietary.

Customers are provided with transparent pricing before work begins and always know the total cost of the project in advance. If a customer prefers complete control over material costs, we are happy to provide a labor-only proposal whenever practical, with the understanding that the customer assumes responsibility for purchasing, delivery, warranty claims, shortages, and project delays related to owner-supplied materials.

Take a look at this beautiful new cedar privacy fence we’re building for our customer.

They thought getting the privacy they wanted was impossible because of an easement running through their property. After looking at the layout and working through the limitations, we found the right solution that gave them the privacy they were hoping for without creating unnecessary issues.

They couldn’t be happier with how it’s turning out, and we’re excited to see the finished result.

Update on the roof repair assistance post

First, I want to sincerely thank everyone who reached out offering materials, labor, advice, equipment, or financial help. The response from the community was incredible, and I truly appreciate every person who was willing to step up.

At this time, I am going to pause coordination of the project while a few important details are worked through privately with the homeowner and family. After reviewing the situation further, it appears to be more involved than a simple roof patch or basic repair, and I want to make sure anything done is safe, properly authorized, and handled the right way for everyone involved.

Out of respect for the family’s privacy, I am not going to share additional details publicly. I just wanted to update everyone so nobody is left wondering what happened.

Thank you again to everyone who offered to help. Your willingness to support a local family means a lot. If there is a clear and safe path forward later, I will update everyone.

Yesterday evening we posted about helping a family in need get their roof done. Here is an update as to the condition it is in. Thank you to everyone for their support, and willingness to help. It wouldn't be possible without all of you.

Can't wait to make this happen for them.

Can we get some advice from our community on this.

There is a family in Waldport, Oregon with a roof in such poor shape that it is literally falling down around them. They are low income/disabled, so they can't afford to fix it out of pocket.

We met them a few months back hoping there was more that we could do, and one of the ideas that keeps popping back up, is to ask the community for donations of supplies/materials, or helping raise the money to be able to do it for them.

Not quite sure what the legality of it would be, or what unwritten rules should be followed so there's 100% transparency about how any donations would be handled/applied, etc.

Anyone have any thoughts, ideas, opinions, recommendations? Feel free to send us a message if you feel more comfortable; or go ahead and leave a comment below.

We are hoping that we can make this happen for the family, if you want to follow us to stay updated, we will post pictures and videos soon.
