Solid Lives. Solid Families. Solid Communities.

Last week, our team put those values into action. We are incredibly grateful for the chance to give back and support the families that make this region strong.

Happy Thanksgiving from the Conger Construction Group family!

Every Career Has a Story.

For Mario Geraci, that story started early—building treehouses, scooters, and desks sparked a lifelong love of construction. He first pursued a degree in mechanical engineering, but quickly realized his passion wasn’t behind a desk. Switching to Construction Management allowed him to build what he truly cared about—schools, churches, and parks that impact communities.

His first project, a 9,000 SF school, was especially meaningful. With his wife being a teacher, seeing students enjoy a brand-new facility was deeply rewarding. After 10 years in the field, Mario transitioned into estimating, drawing on his wide experience across many roles. His career has taken him from Seattle to Andover, and now to Southwest Ohio with Conger.

For Mario, the most rewarding part of his job is interacting with people daily and building relationships that lead to lasting success.

His advice to the next generation: “Go in with an open mind, learn and experience as much as possible, and be willing to put in the time and effort.”

Mario’s career reflects Conger’s values of Commitment, Character, and Connection—building not just projects, but strong communities.

Every Career Has a Story.

For Chris Kromer, that story began in 1996 when his uncle encouraged him to interview for a facilities role with LaSalle National Bank/ABN Amro in Chicago. From managing blueprints and relocations to assisting with small-scale buildouts, Chris discovered a passion for construction that eventually led him back to school for a degree in Construction Management in Cincinnati.

Over the past 25 years, Chris has worked on a wide range of facilities, but two projects stand out most: the Lawrenceburg Riverfront Development/Ivy Tech Project, where he coordinated with multiple agencies on a complex, large-scale build; and the Valley View K-12 School Facility, a 200,000 sq. ft. campus featuring three gyms, a cafetorium, and more.

For Chris, success comes down to communication, teamwork, and problem-solving. His advice to those considering a career in construction: “Never underestimate the power of collaboration—great solutions can come from anyone on the team. Always start with the end in mind, because even those laying foundations should feel pride in the final result.”

Chris embodies Conger’s values of Commitment, Character, and Connection—seeing every project not just as a building, but as a place that shapes communities, education, and future leaders.

Every Career Has a Story.
For Mike Glen, that story started on his grandparents’ farm in central Wisconsin. He spent his childhood watching his grandpa run the family farm and spending as much time outside as possible—experiences that sparked a love of being hands-on and connected to the outdoors.

While studying at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, he watched a new hockey and basketball arena being built from the ground up right next to his dorm, fueling an early passion for construction. After earning his degree in civil/structural engineering and later a master’s at Purdue, Mike began his career as a structural engineer. But he quickly realized his true calling wasn’t behind a desk—it was working with people.

Mike moved into construction, with his first project at West Chester Hospital. When the recession hit in 2009 and had a huge impact on the construction industry, he leaned into relationship-building and discovered how much he thrived in connecting with people. That pivotal moment shaped his career path and eventually led him into Business Development.

Since joining Conger in 2021, Mike has embodied our values of Commitment, Character, and Connection—helping us grow by building trust and relationships that last.

Every Career Has a Story.

For Project Engineer Terry New, it began in an unexpected place—working in IT at a large financial firm. While there, she watched a new campus being built and discovered her real passion: construction.

That moment led her back to school for a Construction Management degree. From providing exterior building products to supporting homebuilders and apartment developments, Terry kept building her experience until she found her home at Conger.

Now, with more than 20 projects under her belt as a Project Engineer, Terry is a vital part of our team—helping bring complex builds to life and continuing her path of growth.

Her story is proof that no matter where you start, a career in construction can take you further than you imagined. And she lives it every day through Commitment, Character, and Connection.

Every Career Has a Story.

For Superintendent Ryan Almand, it began at a young age, as he built alongside his father and learned carpentry at the Greene County Career Center. From framing and masonry to nearly 30 years in glass, Ryan’s career has always been about working with his hands and creating something lasting.

When a Conger project introduced him to our team, Ryan made the leap into a new chapter as Superintendent, a role where his leadership and patience shine. Over the past 15 years, he’s found his most rewarding work in school projects, with the Woodbourne Library in Centerville standing out as a hometown favorite.

Ryan’s advice to the next generation? “Pay attention to the experienced ones around you; those with a positive attitude are the mentors you want to learn from.”

His story reflects what Conger is built on: Commitment, Character, and Connection.
