WHY IS MY HOUSE SO HOT?

This is question we get all the time.

So today we are going to talk about Solar Load.

Solar load is defined as the heat generated by Sunlight shining Directly or Indirectly onto a surface.

This is a HUGE factor for detemining how much Cooling your home needs.

As you can see in the pictures, The Skylight is 115 degrees raidating into the home. Then the Solar energy is also heating up the stairs wherever the sunlight hits them.

Duh, right?

All of this seems inconsquencal until you start adding it all together.

Skylights, Insulation, Wall Penetrations, Doors, Windows.

ALL of these effect how well or how poorly, your AC system is going to cool your house.

It doesn't matter how BIG your AC is, if all of these factors are fighting against it :)
