A weak capacitor isn’t just a number on a meter… it’s extra stress on your equipment. ⚡

In these photos, the condenser fan motor was pulling 1.5 amps with a failing capacitor. After replacing it, the amp draw dropped to 1.1 amps—right where it should be.

That means less heat, less strain on the motor, and a better chance of avoiding a much more expensive repair down the road.

It’s a simple part that plays a huge role in protecting your HVAC system.

When homeowners hear “leaking evaporator coil,” they often picture a huge hole or obvious damage. The reality is usually much different.

This coil looked pretty normal at first glance, but the oil residue tells the real story. Refrigerant leaks carry oil with them, and by the time you see this much oil in the drain pan… it’s a pretty good sign the coil has been leaking for a while. 🛠️💨

Sometimes the biggest problems are the ones you can’t see.

This is why I built Comfort Pros.

TLDR: Wholesome umbrella 🤷‍♂️

Yes, businesses have to make money. That’s reality. A business has to be profitable to stay open and continue serving its customers.

But I never wanted Comfort Pros to be just another HVAC company.

I wanted to build the kind of company that’s part of the community. The kind of company that’s there for its neighbors.

Today I stopped by to check on one of my customers. Her system had already been diagnosed, and mechanically there wasn’t anything wrong with it. The outdoor unit sits in direct afternoon sun until almost sunset, and on our hottest Texas days the compressor will occasionally go out on thermal overload. The permanent solution is to build a shade structure, and that’s already in the plans.

But today, she just needed a little help.

So I drove home, grabbed one of my own beach umbrellas, and gave her condenser some temporary shade until we can get the permanent solution in place.

Will an umbrella fix the problem forever? Of course not.

But not every act of service comes with an invoice.

Sometimes it’s just about helping someone get through the day.

That’s the kind of company I want Comfort Pros to be.

We’re not just your HVAC company. We’re your neighbor. Literally. 🏡

Thought you had a roof leak? Nope… just a bypass duct dumping conditioned air into the attic like a thunderstorm. 🌧️

Sometimes the biggest comfort issues come from the places you can’t see.
