🌟 Our 2024 Take Your Child to Work Day was a blast, and the kids are still bringing it up even a week later! 🚀 From mug painting 🎨, to soccer matches ⚽, scavenger hunts 🗺️, and indulgent pizza and ice cream parties 🍕🍦, it was a day filled with joy and excitement!
But the highlight? Watching our little ones shadow their parents, gaining insight into the world of work, and being excited about it. 😄 Some of them still believe it's all about cracking jokes (and well, they might not be entirely wrong 😂).
We're already counting down to next year's event!🌈

We are thrilled to announce that JB Kline Landscaping has been awarded the 2024 Washington Building Congress Craftsmanship Award for Landscaping! 🏆🎉Per WBC, this award, among others, is given to craftsmen who exhibit the key characteristics of all the Craftsmanship Award winners and focuses on “the essence of craftsmanship” in the following categories: Visual Excellence, Technical Excellence, and Excellence in the Face of Adversity. The award recognizes our work on the Foley & Lardner LLP rooftop, which features a design that incorporated a wide variety of high-end finishes and landscape elements that were to be retrofitted onto an existing set of roof terraces, neatly situated on an iconic piece of Georgetown real estate.
As is the case with many renovation projects, actual roof conditions presented variances that were only realized after the ex*****on of the demo phase. These variances created additional installation challenges that had to be overcome while maintaining the design intent (a feat that is not unfamiliar to our team). While sticking to the architects’ design intent (to maintain a “no-to-minimal” cut paver installation), joint spacing had to be maintained to an exceptionally low tolerance. In many cases, field adjustments to the layout had to be analyzed and implemented during installation.
Our incredible results would not have been possible without the amazing team we are so lucky to have on board. A special thank you to our General Contractor, D Watts Construction for nominating us for this award, the entire Design team for their assistance with the vision of this project, and to WBC for recognizing our hard work. 🤝🤗
Every day we are reminded of how fortunate we are to be a part of this team and community. It’s humbling to know the work we are passionate about has been recognized in such a prestigious category. 👏🌟
