A cracked water filter flooded this basement mechanical room for nearly two months. Because nobody was living downstairs, the leak went completely unnoticed while water continuously sprayed onto the water heaters, pumps, electrical components, and surrounding equipment.

On top of the water damage, the radiant-heating system and domestic house water had been tied together incorrectly. There was no proper circulation pump, and the heater was running year-roundā€”sending heat through the system even during hot weather.

Silver Peak Plumbing stepped in, removed the damaged equipment, separated and corrected the immediate system issues, and restored reliable hot water for the tenants.

This is the temporary solution while we wait for approval on the new combi boiler. Once approved, weā€™ll return to install the combi system, properly handle the radiant heat and domestic hot water, and remove the current boiler so it can be relocated and used somewhere else.

Mechanical rooms are easy to forget, but a small crack or leak can quietly cause thousands of dollars in damage. Check your filters, boilers, water heaters, pumps, and floors regularlyā€”even if that room is the last thing on your mind.

Arizona project wrapped up! šŸŒµšŸ”§

Two solid days out of state getting this shop dialed in for one of our customers. Aside from swapping one last PVC coupling on the filtration system over to Schedule 80 CPVC, this one is officially complete. šŸ’Ŗ

I personally flew out to handle this project because when our name is on the work, getting it done right matters.

Out-of-town and out-of-state projects are absolutely on our radar, and weā€™re always looking for opportunities to take on more work like this.

šŸ”„ā„ļø Snow Doesnā€™t Stand a Chance! ā„ļøšŸ”„

Deck drains might not be the most exciting thingā€”until your radiant snowmelt system starts turning thousands of pounds of Park City snow into water!

Weā€™re installing a complete drainage system underneath this floating paver deck. As the radiant heat melts the snow, water flows through the graded waterproof membrane and into heated deck drains. Heat-tracing cable continues through the drains and gutters, helping prevent freezing and keeping everything flowing during the coldest winter conditions.

This project required serious planning and engineering approval, especially when drilling through solid structural beams. The finished system will reduce heavy snow loads and save the homeowners from shoveling their deck all winter.

A Tekmar 671 controller and 090 snow-and-ice sensor will automatically detect winter weather and activate the system when needed.

It might not look like muchā€”just an old sewage ejector pumpā€”but chipping through solid granite was no easy task!

High in the mountains above Cottonwood Heights, we battled through the rock and got this ejector system installed underground for a cabin bathroom. We completed the underground plumbing and rough-in all in the same day.

We love the traveling jobs, especially the ones that take us to incredible places and put our experience to the test.

This customer called us after dealing with multiple leaks and ongoing plumbing issues throughout the home. What we found was years of failing galvanized drain piping, patched together with tape, rust, grease, and buildup. The system had deteriorated in several areas, from the laundry all the way to the old drum trap.

When we removed it all, the old piping weighed over 200 pounds! šŸ˜³
