Here's a Concrete Paving Replacement and Reconfiguration Project we recently completed!
Our client reached out for a quote to replace the main section of their driveway and redo the concrete leading up to their front stoop, and here's the before and after..
The driveway got reinstalled back to its original dimensions but with an upgraded concrete installation. Most older driveways in this area are 3 and 1/2 to 4 in thick, with no viable reinforcement, and typically subpar subgrade. When we replace driveways we go the extra mile! First off we have to remove the old to make way for the new, once the old driveway is gone we can start from the ground up. We install a 4-in gravel base, that is compacted into place. A rebar reinforcement grid is installed up on the gravel base, and then we place and finish a new concrete driveway that is 5 and 1/2 in thick minimum with a nice light broom finish and a high grade sealer to finish it off.
The concrete leading to the front stoop was also upgraded. We eliminated the gravel garden that essentially just traps water and leads to foundation issues, as well as limiting the usability of the area. We also work together with our client to install an embedded PVC piping system so that they can run their irrigation system out of sight and under the new concrete. This really cleaned up the area and added some new very usable space at the front entrance of their home. We think it turned out great how about you?
