🔍 “What should I do if I find a tick?”

First: 𝗗𝗢𝗡’𝗧 𝗣𝗔𝗡𝗜𝗖.

Second: Put down the nail polish. Step away from the petroleum jelly. And absolutely nobody needs to reach for a match. 😳🔥

Some of those old tick-removal “hacks” belong right next to dial-up internet and VCR repair tutorials.

If you find an attached tick, here’s what to do:
🕷️ 𝟭. 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗯 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗲-𝘁𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝘄𝗲𝗲𝘇𝗲𝗿𝘀.
Get as close to the skin as possible.

🕷️ 𝟮. 𝗣𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝘂𝗽.
Use slow, steady pressure. No twisting. No yanking.

🕷️ 𝟯. 𝗖𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗮.
Wash the bite and your hands with soap and water or rubbing alcohol.

🕷️ 𝟰. 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗸 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻.
And then check everyone else, including the dog. Ticks are tiny, sneaky, and apparently committed to making family vacations complicated.

And don't stop at the obvious places. Check around the ears, hairline, waist, behind the knees, between the toes, and even inside the belly button.

If you develop a rash or fever in the weeks following a tick bite, contact your healthcare provider and mention the tick exposure.

Of course, the best tick is the one that never makes it onto you in the first place.

Hi! I’m Stephanie, D-Bug’s Digital Content and Email Marketing Specialist. I am so honored to be selected for the August Employee Spotlight…but since I’m the one who creates these emails and posts, it feels a little weird to write about myself in the same way 😂. So I’ll just tell you a little about myself.

I've been part of the D-Bug team for 2 years. I create and publish D-Bug's social media content and email marketing campaigns.

𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗹𝘆, 𝗶𝘁'𝘀 𝗮 𝗹𝗼𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗳𝘂𝗻! I get to combine creativity with strategy, see how people respond to our content, and learn some crazy pest facts along the way. It may sound nerdy, but that's my idea of a good time! 😂

Social media posts are probably my favorite thing to create. I'll get random ideas, sometimes in the middle of the night, and then I have fun turning them into images, videos, and posts that inform and entertain people.

When I’m not having the time of my life creating content and marketing campaigns, I golf, read, travel, create coloring journals, and write. I actually published a book last year! I also love spending time with my husband, kids, granddaughter, our dogs, and our pet rabbit.

The most important thing I hope people feel when they see D-Bug content is TRUST. D-Bug is an incredible family-owned company, and I try to convey that through our content and emails while informing readers and hopefully making them laugh a little, too!
