Day 5 and final day of “Love thy Neighbor” for 2026! Thank you to everyone who sent nominations in with stories of all the wonderful people in our community! We look forward to more appreciation in 2027!

💚🌻🏸Brandon Statler

I’m nominating Brandon because he embodies “love thy neighbor” on the tennis court. He gives himself fully to his students, stretching across classes, clinics, and private lessons so players of every age and level feel welcome and supported. He’s sharp, genuinely funny, and endlessly encouraging. He’s the glue for a core group of players at the club, the reason so many of us keep showing up, for the game and for each other.


💚🌻🍦Kylie Roche

Kylie is kind, generous, hardworking and the list goes on and on. She definitely is a great example of what a hometown business should bring to the community! The “CONE ZONE” is a GREAT place because of her!

💚🌻Mike “Pap” “Dad” Ferlin

My dad is a very helpful and giving man. He is always willing to lend a hand to help his family especially his grandkids. When I think of my dad he is the man that has helped grow Hidden JEM Farm into the success it is today. Many times when I am in the field and find a problem, he is my first call. I was successfully killing over 100 eucalyptus plants and a call to my dad and he was able to revive them all within a month. He has taught me much of what I know about gardening and growing plants, field preparation and maintenance.

He consistently takes the little JEM’s to help him with his volunteer time at Saint Cecilia Church and is teaching them about giving and helping others by doing. I am honored to present him with a “Love thy Neighbor” appreciation bouquet.


💚🌻Mike “Pap” Ferlin

Mike Ferlin has donated his time endlessly for more years than most of us can count to help St. Cecilia Church raise funds, from past Church Festivals, tickets, current Burger Bash, as well as Bingo Sunday’s. Mike’s dedication and hard work deserves the humble recognition of Hidden JEM Farm “Love thy Neighbor” campaign award.

Day 4: “Love thy Neighbor” Appreciation Giveaway!

We spent the afternoon in Downtown Latrobe! 🧡🖤

🌻Susan Trout
Susan Trout has been the manager for the city of Latrobe for the last year… Her anniversary was Tuesday, August 4.🙂. In that year, she has worked tirelessly to to manage day-to-day happenings, develop strong fiscal processes , build a staff that works together to continue to move our city forward. She has also volunteered and been present for so many of the city’s events, being in the city of Latrobe usually 6 days every week ! She is a gift and blessing to the city of Latrobe !

🌻Scott Kroh (picture to come)
Scott owns Robindale Energy and is very kind, humble and is so generous to the Latrobe community, in many ways. He & his company are very quiet about all of the ways in which they support and help our “neighborhood”! I think he and his family should know how much our community appreciates their generosity!

Day 3 of “Love thy Neighbor” Appreciation Week! Today we had a double nomination because these community members are great people doing great things! 💚

🌻Jesse Copelli: Copelli Auto

They have such a giving heart and are always thinking of others. They consistently going out of their way to help others and not to mention they always are doing something for the kids in the community.

Jesse goes above and beyond for all customers. If he is in the middle of working on someone’s vehicle and a customer stops in for a question or concern, he drops what he is doing to help them. When I say our schedule is full, he will find a way to squeeze a customer in. He is always kind to every customer, even when customers are not so nice to him. When I am not in the office, he covers for me answering phone, doing paperwork, etc. We usually don’t work Saturday’s but if someone is in a bind and needs a Saturday, he will come in by himself and work. Our hours are 8:00-5:00 but he always is coming in early and staying late to make sure he gets everything done for the day.

🌻Sarah Thompson

I am nominating Sarah because she’s selflessly gives of herself day in and day out. Not only does she volunteer and coach Basketball but she also is my amazing business partner who has been keeping the businesses and my life running since the spinal cord injury. She is truly one of a kind that always puts everyone else first.

🌻Dr. Jill Kielbiowski

I would like to nominate Dr. Jill. She is kind, friendly, understanding and always takes extra time to get to the bottom of my concerns. She listens adamantly to understanding what is being said and what may not be said. She takes time off the clock to check in on patients, or with families who she cares for their members when they are sick or in the hospital, She is the caring soul that healthcare needs.

🌻Paula and Rich Walker

Paula and Rich are the most giving people I know. Always ready to help out a friend or family member in need (or not). They have alot on their plate, but still find time.

Monday: Day 1 of our “Love Thy Neighbor” Appreciation Give Away!

These two lovely ladies were nominated for their countless volunteer hours helping children and elderly in our communities. They offer their time, and kindness to make Latrobe a great place to live!

💜Lisa Kring
Lisa always goes out of her way to help others. She takes my elderly mom communion every week and will pop in and visit her. She is very thoughtful.

💜Mary Stoner
Mary Stoner is a kind and giving soul. She spends countless hours educating children about their Catholic faith. She coordinates many family oriented events and includes all people, families and children. She works tirelessly to give her gifts to share with others and helps people to find their gifts. She volunteers many hours for the Diocese, families and children. She is always positive and has a kind word or compliment to uplift other people.
