🌳BIG NEWS AT CENTER CUT!🌳

We’re incredibly proud to congratulate Spencer on earning his ISA Board Certified Master Arborist® (BCMA™) credential — the highest level of certification offered by the International Society of Arboriculture.

This isn’t your everyday certification. Board Certified Master Arborists represent an elite level of knowledge and experience in arboriculture, and only a handful of professionals in the Las Vegas Valley have achieved this distinction.

Earning the BCMA credential requires advanced expertise in tree biology, diagnosis, plant health care, tree risk, pruning, soil management, safety, and the overall management of trees in the urban landscape.

For our clients, this means even more expertise behind the care and management of one of the most valuable parts of their landscapes — their trees.

For our team, it’s another example of what we believe in at Center Cut: investing in our people, developing experts, and continually raising the standard of landscape management in Las Vegas.

Congratulations, Spencer! This is a HUGE accomplishment, and we’re proud to have you on the Center Cut team. 🌲👏

🌱 Project Update: Planting is Underway!

The UNR Extension Irrigation Demonstration Area is coming to life! With the irrigation systems in place, our team has moved into the planting phase, installing trees, shrubs, and other plant material throughout the demonstration area.

Each planting is being paired with the appropriate irrigation method, allowing this space to demonstrate different approaches to efficiently delivering water to the landscape.

We're getting closer to the finish line and excited to see all the pieces come together!

🌿 Project Update: Drip Irrigation Installation Underway

Work continues at the University of Nevada, Reno Extension's Irrigation Demonstration Area!

Our crew has begun installing the drip irrigation system for the planting areas. This low-volume irrigation method delivers water directly to the root zone, reducing evaporation, minimizing runoff, and providing efficient hydration for trees, shrubs, and native plantings.

Every component is being carefully laid out and installed to ensure long-term performance and water efficiency, creating a landscape that demonstrates sustainable irrigation practices in action.

More updates coming soon as this project continues to take shape!

🌱 Project Update: IMAT Installation Complete

Another milestone complete at the University of Nevada, Reno Extension's Irrigation Demonstration Area!

Our team has finished installing the IMAT (Irrigation Mat), subsurface drip irrigation, and new sod. The IMAT works beneath the surface to retain and evenly distribute moisture while the drip system delivers water directly to the root zone. The result is a healthier, more efficient turf system that minimizes evaporation and maximizes every drop of water.

This demonstration area will serve as a hands-on educational resource, showcasing innovative irrigation technologies that support water conservation without sacrificing landscape quality.

We're proud to partner with the Southern Nevada Irrigation Association on this volunteer project and look forward to seeing the turf establish over the coming weeks.

Stay tuned for the final project reveal!

💧 Project Update: Smarter Water Starts Below the Surface

The transformation continues at the University of Nevada, Reno Extension's Irrigation Demonstration Area!

Today, our team began installing the irrigation mat (IMAT)—an innovative layer placed beneath the turf that works together with subsurface drip irrigation to improve water efficiency.

The IMAT helps capture, retain, and distribute moisture evenly throughout the soil profile. Subsurface drip tubing is installed within the mat, allowing water to move where plants need it most while reducing evaporation and improving irrigation uniformity. Once complete, soil and sod are installed over the system, creating a healthy, efficient landscape from the ground up.

It's another example of how today's irrigation technology is helping conserve water while maintaining beautiful, healthy landscapes.

We're proud to partner with the Southern Nevada Irrigation Association on this volunteer project and look forward to sharing the finished educational exhibit with students, industry professionals, and visitors alike.

Stay tuned—we're getting closer to the finished product!

🌱 Project Update: Every Great Landscape Starts with the Foundation

Progress continues at the University of Nevada, Reno Botanical Garden!

With the irrigation infrastructure now in place, our team has completed the grading of the UNR project. While it may not look like much yet, this is one of the most important steps in the construction process.

Proper grading creates the foundation for everything that follows. It establishes the finished elevations, promotes proper drainage, and provides a smooth, stable base for the landscape components that will soon be installed.

Every detail matters, even the parts most people will never notice.

We're proud to partner with the Southern Nevada Irrigation Association on this volunteer project and look forward to bringing this educational exhibit one step closer to completion.

Stay tuned; next comes the transformation you'll be able to see.

💧 Project Update: Building the Foundation

Our work at the University of Nevada, Reno Botanical Garden continues!

Today's focus was on the "behind-the-scenes" components that make an irrigation system function. Our team installed new irrigation control valves along with a fertigation system, which allows nutrients to be delivered through the irrigation network for efficient and precise plant care.

While these components are hidden underground in most landscapes, they'll be showcased as part of the new Irrigation Demonstration Area so visitors can see exactly how a modern irrigation system is assembled and understand the role each piece plays.

We're proud to partner with the Southern Nevada Irrigation Association on a project that will help educate students, industry professionals, and the community about smart irrigation, water conservation, and sustainable landscaping.

Stay tuned; we're one step closer to bringing this educational exhibit to life!

💧Every healthy landscape starts with a great irrigation system.
We’re excited to partner with the Southern Nevada Irrigation Association and the University of Nevada, Reno Botanical Garden on a special volunteer project to renovate the Irrigation Demonstration Area.

Today marked the first step as our crew removed the existing synthetic turf to prepare the site for the new educational irrigation exhibit. It's exciting to see the transformation begin.

Over the coming days, our team will be helping transform this educational space into a hands-on learning environment where students, industry professionals, and garden visitors can see how an irrigation system is built, understand how each component works, and learn why efficient irrigation is so important for healthy landscapes and water conservation.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to give back to our industry and our community. Stay tuned as we share the progress along the way!

Our irrigation team corrected a system that had been poorly installed by a previous contractor at a property we recently took on. Valves were scattered throughout the site, making maintenance difficult and leaving the area looking cluttered.

By relocating, consolidating, and rebuilding the valve layout, we created a cleaner, more organized installation that improves accessibility, functionality, and appearance.

It's the kind of behind-the-scenes work that most people never notice—but it makes all the difference.
