Help us heal Cali’s broken heart. 💔⁣

This shy, gentle little girl is just under 2-years-old (64 lbs). Cali came into our care after sadly being abandoned following a litter of puppies, and we can’t help but wonder what she’s been through. She often has a worried, heartbroken expression, but we’re determined to show her that she never has to worry about being abandoned again. 🥺⁣

Cali has been nothing but mellow and gentle with everyone she meets. One of the things that brings her comfort? Squeaky plushy toys! Watching her light up and her tail wag when she has a favorite toy reminds us that there’s a playful, happy girl beneath that timid exterior! 🧸 🎾 🦴

Cali will need an equally gentle and patient family who understands that trust takes time. She needs someone willing to go at her pace, give her reassurance, and show her that the world can be a safe and loving place.⁣

She has reportedly had experience around older, gentle kids and may benefit from having another calm, social dog around to help bring her out of her shell (meet-and-greet with any current household dogs).
