Everyone likes … 🎂

And this morning I ordered another one to be delivered later this week.

It’s heading to a company that has just made a significant investment in what many consider the most robust Leica Geosystems on the market and is about to join our growing Mobile Mapping .

For now, the name remains … but the geospatial world may want to pay attention.

I have driven along this road more than 500 times in the last 10 years and every single time I found myself thinking:

"Those light poles don't look straight..."

I always told myself that one day, when I had a Leica Geosystems with me, I would capture the data to find out whether I was imagining things or if there was actually something wrong.

was that day.

I captured the data, processed it, and with the help of Aleksandr Solopov and , we analyzed the results.

On this section of this UK ( Can you the name of this motorway?), we assessed around 30 lighting poles, and the findings confirmed my suspicion: more than one-third showed tilts outside the expected tolerance.

It's a great example of how can be with , turning a simple observation into measurable, actionable .

I leave with a full heart.

After a fantastic week in at came another incredible one in Singapore, where we had the opportunity to meet with customers, hold an internal workshop together with Kyle Palmer, and finish with a session attended by clients who travelled from other countries.

I truly hope the seeds have been planted in all of you, and that in the near future I can return to support you again in delivering and training the next customers adopting Leica Geosystems part of Hexagon across the region.

Next week, I’ll be at INTERGEO Expo and Conference, and the week after, I’ll be with the Leica Geosystems part of Hexagon crew at the and Roadshows.

A quick exercise shows:
has ~256 500 miles of roads:

Major Roads: Motorways and A-roads ( 31 900 miles)
Minor Roads: B-roads, C-roads, and unclassified roads ( 214 600 miles)

(~396 000 km for my metric friends)

has roughly 830 000 km of roads, split by type:
Motorways (Autobahnen): ~13 192 km
Federal Roads (Bundesstraßen): ~40 000 km
Provincial Roads (Landesstraßen): ~178 920 km
District Roads (Kreisstraßen): ~230 000 km
Local Roads: ~660 000 km
