We want to thank Chris and CWA Construction for a very positive experience as our General Contractor as we recovered from the devastating storm HELENE last September 26. Our first story was like so many others a complete loss. Everything in it was destroyed by the 3 ft of water that surged into our place. We are now back in our home, and it looks great. What a relief! and I know, just in time for this Hurricane season. Chris's team was especially helpful between HELENE and MILTON when we needed to get the drywall & insulation removal done and mold mitigation going. I had no idea how fast the onset of mold is from the flood waters. Chris's team had a crowd of customers but were able to get to us, in fact the guys were pulling drywall and helping with demo as MILTON was bearing down. Chris sent a large crew to pull our drywall quick as the crew finished up and then left that day to evacuate from MILTON. We could not have done this ourselves, and the demand for contract help was significant as locals will recall. Mold mitigation team was here right after MILTON and we were set for repairs to commence at the end of October. Our permit went into TI on 13 November and despite the backlogged permit process in Treasure Island, Chris was able to push our permit through due to his pretty forceful push on the TI staff. We got a permit in early January. Chris and CWA had already addressed electrical early due to safety issues and could have, would have started sooner save for the permit. Chris and CWA then delivered a number of trades for electrical, plumbing, drywall, insulation, a lot of trim and base, paint and assisted us with some repairs on our second story where we had some water leaks. The work was good quality, I know as I'm retired Navy and I look pretty hard at that. Chris also meshed perfectly with some subcontractors that we hired direct for specialty items like Audio Visual, new front doors and Kitchen Cabs, and CWA installed bath Vanities, and fixtures. So total time away from our home is/was 9 months, and construction time from Permit issue to being able to get back in was just under 6 months. And that's pretty remarkable as I saw Chris juggle a large tribe of desperate, displaced homeowners. He is easy to work with, and I got to know Chris and watched as he handled life's challenges both professional and personal, but he kept our needs and desires a priority throughout. I also feel that costs were appropriate and not inflated which can be a thing when the whole West Coast of Florida is in dire need of help. It can get pricey I checked on going rates for repairs and Chris is priced competitively. I'd hire Chris again and I'd recommend him to others; both of these are perhaps the best compliments a customer can give. I'm happy to discuss any of this with any future CWA client!
