Storm damage on the garage and a dormer that needed some attention! 🏠🔨

This project involved more than just replacing a few missing shingles. Our FixRoof crew tackled both roofing and siding repairs to get these areas properly protected again.

Here's what we took care of:

- Replaced storm-damaged, blown-off 3-tab shingles on the back of the garage
- Installed new Hickory Brown 3-tab shingles
- Removed the old siding from all 3 sides of the back dormer
- Installed new siding on the dormer
- Installed new fascia metal with a hem that locks into the J-channel to help keep water out
- Installed new J-channel around the dormer windows
- Left the existing new window wraps untouched
- Removed and reinstalled the gutter as needed
- Completed a full cleanup and removed all debris

**Shingle Color Note:** We matched the new Hickory Brown shingles as closely as possible, but older shingles naturally fade and weather over time. Some color variation between the new and existing shingles may be noticeable.

It's the little details—like properly secured siding, J-channel, and fascia—that help protect a home from future water problems.

A new roof AND a ventilation issue that needed some attention! 🏠🔨

This home and attached garage needed a complete roof replacement, but there was also an important detail involving the bathroom exhaust ventilation.

Here's what went into this roofing project:

- Tore off the existing shingles down to the roof deck
- Included 5 sheets of decking in the project price
- Installed 2 rows of ice & water shield along the eaves and valleys
- Installed synthetic underlayment
- Added new drip edge and starter shingles
- Installed new pipe and wall flashings
- Installed box vents for proper ventilation on the hip roof
- Checked soffit airflow
- Added a dedicated bathroom exhaust roof vent
- Installed new architectural shingles
- Storm-nailed the shingles for added wind protection

One important detail: The existing bathroom exhaust was connected to a roof box vent. We provided a dedicated roof vent for the exhaust, with the attic connection to be completed separately by an HVAC-certified professional.

We also offered the homeowner the option to upgrade from standard ice and water shield coverage to full-roof protection.

We replaced the remaining wood-sided sections of this home with new Hardie siding, and Iron Gray was a great choice for the finished look!
Here’s what went into this project:
– Removed the existing wood siding in the designated areas
– Addressed wall sheathing as needed
– Installed new housewrap
– Installed Hardie Board and Batten siding in Iron Gray
– Installed 5" Hardie Plank siding on the kitchen wall of the front wrap-around porch
– Installed 5" Hardie Plank siding on the back porch section
– Added 2 new sections of seamless gutter around the front porch/stone chimney area
– Installed snap-fit gutter guards on both new gutter sections
– Removed all siding debris
– Finished with a magnetic sweep for nails and metal
The combination of Board and Batten with the 5-inch Plank siding adds some great dimension while keeping the exterior tied together with the Iron Gray color.
