We were pleased to tour the Northville Township Police and Fire Departments at the Southeast Michigan Psychiatric Hospital.

By walking first responders through the 406,000-SF facility ahead of opening, we are helping build familiarity with the layout, security, and access points, supporting safer and more effective response when it matters most.

We are proud to have delivered the new Green Oaks Training Academy Lodge for the Michigan Department of Technology, Management & Budget. The 55,000-SF facility provides overnight accommodations for 190 guests, along with amenities including a fitness center, dining area, and recreational spaces.

More than a facility, this project creates an environment where Michigan Department of Corrections staff can prepare for the critical work they do every day. By bringing training, housing and support spaces together on one campus, the academy strengthens readiness, builds community, and supports those who serve.

We appreciate the opportunity to partner with the State of Michigan DTMB on a project that invests in people and public service.

As temperatures rise, acclimating to the heat is critical. At Christman, following best practices isn’t optional, it’s part of how we take care of our people every day.

Heat-related illnesses are a serious hazard in the months ahead making awareness and preparation essential for every team member.

Here are some ways to get ahead of heat-related illness:
✅Provide plenty of water
✅Ensure access to shade
✅Establish cooling areas
✅Encourage frequent breaks

Acclimation takes time, and new workers are especially at risk. Let’s look out for one another and take proactive steps to prevent heat stress, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke.

Last week, we were proud to participate in the annual conference hosted by the Michigan Historic Preservation Network.

Austin Giesey, Senior Project Manager and leader of our Historic Preservation Group in Michigan, joined partners SmithGroup, Quinn Evans, and HopkinsBurns Design Studio to present on the restoration, preservation, and expansion work at the National Historic Landmark Henry Ford Estate – Fair Lane and tour ongoing work at The Basilica of Ste. Anne de Detroit.

It was an honor to share the collaboration, craftsmanship, and technical expertise required to preserve two of Michigan’s most historically significant landmarks for future generations.

At Detroit Metropolitan Airport, our team helped bring FedEx operations together into a single, high-performing hub designed for speed, efficiency, and growth. The new distribution center spans six buildings and is anchored by a two-story admin and sort facility, all delivered within a 23-month schedule in a high-traffic, high-security environment.

From aircraft apron and taxiway improvements to critical site infrastructure upgrades, every detail was built to support continuous movement of cargo and connections across the globe.
