I was called to go to a homeowner's house and look at a deck extension they recently had finished by a roofing/siding company. She wants to add steps to the front of the deck. 🤔 I was told by the homeowner, the guy that did the work won't return her calls. I'll just leave this picture here. 👇 I told her that most likely, the reason he won't call her or answer the phone is clear. The entire front extension is dangerously wrong and needs to be rebuilt the proper way. It's sad that people get taken advantage of, and trust that the ones they are talking to know what they are doing. Now for me to put my name on this disaster of a deck I'll need to strip off the decking and replace all the joist to the proper length, and re-deck it again. It only aggravates me that I could have built her a new deck for the price she paid for this disaster. PLEASE DONT LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOU!!! There's a reason you should only hire a professional Deck and Porch builder to work on your deck.
