As heating season ramps up, carbon monoxide safety is worth a few minutes of your attention. CO is colorless and odorless, and the risks associated with it tend to increase when heating equipment is running more frequently.
A few things worth checking this October:
- Make sure you have working carbon monoxide detectors on each level of your home, especially near sleeping areas
- Test your detectors and replace batteries if needed before you are relying on your heat daily
- If your furnace or heating system has not been inspected recently, a pre-season checkup may help identify issues with combustion or venting that are worth knowing about
- Never run gas-powered equipment indoors or in attached garages
We are available for pre-season inspections and system checks.
