I have always had a passion for gardening and growing interesting and unique edible plants. I have spent many years gardening and educating myself on planting and growing techniques and have shared my expertise with the local chapter of Master Gardeners. Off The Beaten Path Nurseries specializes in exotic fruit bearing trees, most notably figs (over 200 varieties from 18 different countries), pers

immons, Saskatoon berries, currants, gooseberry, elderberry, jostaberry, lingonberry, cranberry, seaberry, and Paw Paws. We also grow turmeric, ginger, dragon fruit, pomegranate green tea, and other sub tropical plants. We are grateful to be part of the local food movement and love that the consumers are being conscience of where their food comes from. Our customers travel from Virginia, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, and even North Carolina to pick up plants, shrubs, and trees. We also ship the aforementioned along with cuttings ( figs, pomegranate, grape, and muscadine) in the fall. We are committed to offer expert advice and quality products!

We will be at the Baltimore Herb Fest tomorrow from 9-3:30. It is rain or shine, but there are some great vendors and great food. It is a great event and hopefully it won't rain all day. We will have our usual - figs, persimmons, paw paws (many varieties), pomegranate, citrus, lavender and other herbs, elderberry, lingonberry, jujube, and more. Hope to see some there!

Paw Paw trees are here and ready to go! We have the following varieties available:

Lehman's Chiffon, KSU Mitchell, KSU Atwood, Prolific, Mango, Sunflower, PA Golden, KSU Chappell, KSU Benson, Rebecca's Gold, Maria's Joy, Potomac, Allegheny, Shenandoah, Wabash, Tallahatchie, and a few other random varieties. These can be picked up locally or ordered on the website at offthebeatenpathnursery.com.

We are super excited to finally be able to offer these numerous varieties after many requests. We hope we have what you are looking for! Also, we still have a good number of fig varieties, pomegranate, Asian pear and persimmon, lavender varieties, elderberry, lingonberry, Meyer Lemon, Satsuma Mandarin, Thai lime (Kaffir), green tea and a few other surprises.

Finally, the Fuyu persimmon trees are here! Both Fuyu and Nikita's gift persimmon trees are now available. Additionally, Maypop hardy passionfruit, Favorite Pomegranate, Citradia, Nijeseiki Asian Pear, Everbearing Illinois Mulberry, Schisandra vine, and Male and Female (Saanichton) fuzzy kiwi vines are all available for pick up. We may start to ship them as well if they don't sell locally. Also, as always, fig trees and a few other hardy pomegranate trees will be available. Thank you!
