This home had been covered in a cement-based plaster for decades — trapping moisture, causing deterioration, and hiding the beauty of its original stone masonry.
We carefully removed the plaster, exposed the historic stone, and repointed with lime mortar, the same type of breathable material these buildings were originally built with.
Historic masonry needs to release moisture. Cement seals it in, leading to cracks, spalling, and structural damage.
Lime mortar moves with old stone — it’s flexible, gentle, and allows the building to perform as intended.
Using the right materials protects the structure for the next generation instead of slowly destroying it.
Removing the plaster brought back the home’s original character and craftsmanship.
Restoring buildings the right way means honoring how they were built. Preservation, not just repair.
Grateful to help bring this home back to life.
