Smithers Construction is growing, and we’re looking for hardworking, dependable individuals to join our team! We’re looking to bring on motivated people who take pride in their work, pay attention to detail, and want to be part of a company that values quality craftsmanship, teamwork, and getting the job done right.
We have multiple positions available for individuals with experience in the construction industry, as well as hardworking people looking to build their skills and grow with us.
🔨 POSITIONS AVAILABLE:
🔹 General Laborers
• Assist with daily construction activities and job site preparation.
• Load, unload, and organize materials and equipment.
• Keep job sites clean, organized, and safe.
• Assist skilled tradesmen and crews with various construction tasks.
• Be willing to learn new skills and take direction from supervisors.
• Previous construction experience is a plus, but a strong work ethic and willingness to learn are important.
🔹 Project Managers
• Coordinate construction projects from planning through completion.
• Oversee daily job site operations, schedules, and project progress.
• Coordinate subcontractors, crews, materials, and deliveries.
• Communicate with clients, team members, and suppliers.
• Monitor project timelines, budgets, quality, and safety.
• Identify and resolve job site issues to keep projects moving efficiently.
• Previous construction management experience, strong organizational skills, and leadership abilities are preferred.
🔹 Framers
• Perform framing work for residential and commercial construction projects.
• Read and interpret blueprints, layouts, and construction plans.
• Frame walls, floors, roofs, and other structural components.
• Measure, cut, and install lumber and building materials accurately.
• Work efficiently as part of a crew while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
• Experience with framing, construction tools, and job site safety is preferred.
🔹 Drywall Hangers
• Measure, cut, and install drywall on walls and ceilings.
• Work from construction plans and job site layouts when necessary.
• Ensure drywall is installed properly and efficiently.
• Handle materials, tools, and equipment safely.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Previous drywall hanging experience is preferred.
🔹 Drywall Finishers
• Tape, mud, and finish drywall to a professional standard.
• Apply joint compound, embed tape, and finish seams and corners.
• Sand and prepare surfaces for primer and paint.
• Produce smooth, consistent finishes while paying attention to detail.
• Work efficiently to meet project schedules and quality expectations.
• Experience with finishing techniques and professional-quality results is preferred.
