Don’t wait on your trees 🌳

Sure, trimming or removing a tree isn’t cheap—but you know what’s more expensive?

🪵 A crushed fence
🚗 A dented car
🏠 A hole in your roof

Spring’s the time to get ahead of it. Dead limbs and overgrowth only get worse (and heavier) as the season goes on.

Taking care of it now can save you a whole lot of stress later.

Need someone to take a look? We’ve got you.

🌿 Spring Lawn Maintenance Tips for Colorado
Spring is here, and it's the perfect time to prepare your Colorado lawn for a lush summer. Here's a quick checklist to get started:

Fertilize: Apply a nitrogen-rich fertilizer between March and June to promote healthy growth.

Aerate: Loosen compacted soil to allow water and nutrients to reach the roots.

Mow Properly: Keep your mower blades sharp and set at 2.5 to 3 inches. Mow during cooler parts of the day to reduce stress on the grass.

W**d Control: Use pre-emergent herbicides before w**ds appear. If overseeding, opt for post-emergent solutions.

Water Wisely: Irrigate between 6 PM and 10 AM, ensuring about ¾ inch of water per session without causing runoff.

🌿 5 Easy Ways to Make Your Yard More Eco-Friendly 🌿

Looking to create a yard that's both beautiful and kind to the environment? Here are five simple ideas to get you started:

#1 Plant Native Species: They thrive in our local climate and require less water and maintenance.

#2 Mulch Your Beds: Mulching helps retain moisture and suppress w**ds.

#3 Install Drip Irrigation: Efficient watering systems reduce waste and promote healthy plants.

#4 Choose Drought-Tolerant Plants: These plants conserve water and still look great.

#5 Compost Yard Waste: Turn leaves and clippings into nutrient-rich soil.

May is one of the best times to plant flowers. The threat of frost has passed in most areas, the soil is warming up, and nurseries are full of fresh, colorful options. Whether you're filling pots, refreshing garden beds, or starting from scratch, here are some flowers that do well when planted in May:

🌸 Petunias
These are a go-to for a reason. They come in tons of colors, bloom all summer, and do well in both containers and beds. Bonus: they’re low-maintenance and heat-tolerant.

🌼 Marigolds
Bright, tough, and pest-repelling—marigolds are perfect for sunny spots. They’re easy to grow and bloom quickly after planting.

🌿 Salvia
Salvia brings height and color to your garden, and pollinators love it. Look for blue, purple, or red varieties depending on the look you want.

🌺 Zinnias
If you want bold color that keeps going into fall, zinnias are a great choice. They're fast growers and thrive in the heat.

🌷 Coneflowers (Echinacea)
These are perennials, so they’ll come back year after year. They're hardy, drought-tolerant, and look great mixed with other summer bloomers.

🌻 Sunflowers
May is a perfect time to plant sunflower seeds directly into the ground. They grow fast, love full sun, and add a cheerful vibe to any yard.

🪻 Daisies & Black-eyed Susans
Classic, long-blooming, and great for borders or cottage-style gardens. These also hold up well through the summer heat.

Tips for Planting in May:
– Wait until after the last frost (On or after Mother's Day weekend)
– Water new plants regularly while they establish
– Add mulch to help retain moisture and prevent w**ds
– Choose plants based on how much sun your yard gets

Starting your flower planting in May sets you up for a colorful summer. Whether you're sprucing up the front yard or making your patio more inviting, a few well-chosen blooms go a long way.

Happy planting!

Mother’s Day is about slowing down and appreciating the people who hold everything together. For many of us, that means spending time with Mom, sharing a meal, or just enjoying a quiet moment outside.

This time of year, the yard starts coming back to life—flowers blooming, trees filling in, birds making noise again. It’s a good reminder that simple things, like a well-loved garden or a peaceful spot to sit, can bring a lot of joy.

If you’re thinking about doing something thoughtful for Mom, it doesn’t have to be big.

– Plant her favorite flower
– Clean up the yard so she doesn’t have to
– Set up a chair or hammock where she can relax
– Just spend some time with her outside

Sometimes the best gifts are the quiet ones—shared coffee on the porch, fresh air, a little sunshine, and a yard that feels cared for.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms, grandmas, and mother figures out there. You make the world better in more ways than we can count.

When Should You Aerate Your Lawn?

Not sure why your grass isn’t looking its best?

If your lawn feels compacted, water runs off easily, or grass looks thin—it's probably time to aerate.

Best times to aerate in Colorado?
🌱 Spring (April–May) also works, especially if your lawn sees heavy foot traffic or clay soil.
🍂 Fall (Sept–Oct) is ideal—temps are cooler, and the soil is still soft.

Aerating helps oxygen, water, and nutrients reach the roots so your lawn can grow thick and healthy.
