We're proud to showcase the completed CST Ready Building, a new 2,000 SF Butler pre-engineered metal building constructed for the Washington Military Department's Civil Support Team. The facility provides secure storage for the team's mobile laboratory with two dedicated vehicle bays and supporting workspace, ensuring they're equipped to respond when it matters most.

Like many construction projects, this one required adaptability. Early in construction, our team encountered unexpected underground concrete and utilities left behind from a previous wash station. Through proactive coordination and problem-solving, we worked through these unforeseen conditions while keeping the project moving forward.

The result is a durable, functional facility built to support Military operations.

🎙️ NOW ON THE POD: Mindset of the Modern Dad with Ejay O'Donnell

We're excited to welcome Ejay O'Donnell, Co-Founder and Owner of Dad Gang Co. to the latest episode of Merit Matters.

What makes this conversation especially meaningful is that Ejay is a former Merit employee. Since then, he has helped build DadGang into a nationally recognized brand, selling more than one million hats and creating a powerful online community that celebrates and supports fathers everywhere.

In this episode, Ejay sits down with Tammy Birklid to share his entrepreneurial journey, the lessons he's learned while growing a viral brand, and how DadGang is helping redefine the conversation around modern fatherhood. Together, they explore what it means to be a present, engaged dad in today's world and why creating spaces for fathers to connect matters more than ever.

Whether you're a parent, business owner, aspiring entrepreneur, or simply someone who appreciates stories of growth and purpose, this is an episode you won't want to miss.

The WSECU Tenant Improvement project transformed and expanded the existing credit unit branch within a multi-tenant building, increasing its footprint from 1,872 SF to 2,875 SF through the integration of adjacent tenant space.

A key challenge was maintaining uninterrupted banking services throughout construction. To achieve this, the project was carefully executed in two phases within an occupied facility. Credit union operations were temporarily relocated to one side of the branch while renovations were being completed on the other. Once the first phase was finished, operations shifted into the newly renovated area, allowing construction to proceed in the remaining space without disrupting normal business.

Through detailed planning, close coordination with subcontractors, and phased ex*****on, the project successfully delivered an expanded, modernized branch while ensuring continuous service for members and staff.

Recently at Viking Cabinets, our team was managing a concrete pour, site grading, and wood framing all happening simultaneously across the jobsite. These trades are scheduled weeks in advance, and when multiple milestones are happening at once, every person plays a critical role. If one trade falls behind, it can impact the entire sequence of work.

Clear communication, trust, and coordination are essential to keeping projects moving forward safely and on time. That is why we place high value on building strong relationships with our subcontractors. The trust, accountability, and teamwork developed over many projects make all the difference on complex days like this.

The day was executed flawlessly, thanks to the outstanding and disciplined work by our team and trade partners!

One of the most satisfying parts of construction (aside from seeing the finished product of course)? When the prep work pays off.

Before installation of the brand-new tellers pod at WSECU, our team worked with casework contractor, IWP, to lay out the pod footprint using a full-size template, allowing us to coordinate every electrical, data, and security conduit ahead of time.

When it arrived on site:
✅Everything lined up perfectly
✅No rework was needed
✅Installation was complete in just hours

Mastery isn't accomplished by luck - it is achieved through thorough preparation and coordination.
