I have a confession.
Despite 98% of my job being outdoors, despite living somewhere subject to lake effect snow every winter, and despite having endured Midwest weather for 20 years... I HATE the cold.
Sweatshirt weather is okay, but once there's a fall day where it's too cold to run around with bare feet, I'm miserable to be around.
Working under a heat advisory, rainstorm, or humidity that has you drinking the air? I'm doing great.
But once my hands are too cold without gloves, or I have to LAYER? I'm donezo.
Today, instead of covering sensitive summer plants(possible frost in the morning), I harvested the veggies I had to for customers, and then I went home😇
I was planning on sticking it out until the rain hit. Being cold AND wet is a combination for utter destruction to any poor soul who comes across my path.
So send out some good vibes for my poor plants☠️ they'll *probably* be fine until tomorrow, when I'll be properly layered, booted, and ready to take on the unfortunate coming of winter.
[My hope is to get the summer plants through these cold couple days, and then getting more veg to ripen since it'll warm up again next week]
wimpy gardener out✌️
