TBG Outdoors Minnesota's Premier Landscaping Company I'm a hardscapes landscaper with a hunting & fishing problem. Fluit, fluit my storie is uit.

Based out of Lakeville MN, I mostly install beauty into bleak garden in and around the South Metro area. I love being outdoors in the woods or on a lake, looking to not only enjoy the peace and quiet but to live off the land and harvest my own food which lead me to the challenging arts of walleye fishing and bow hunting. Story behind the beard:
A razor touched my face for the last time on October 2013 for a girl, who not to long after dumped me. That was that, I decided right then that I wasn't going to shave again, not for anyone and most definitely not for a girl! As the years went on, the beard grew longer, I was told many times if I shaved I'd meet me a woman and look so much more attractive... Well I definitely didn't need to meet a woman and most certainly don't care to be a pretty boy either, the rugged outdoors mountain man look fits me better anyways. Since then I met a woman who loves the beard, told me if I ever cut it off she would deport my ass back to South Africa so I guess I finally met the one and we've been married ever since. So this page doesn't really have a specific category It's more so just a collection of the things I enjoy. Have yourselves a BEARDIFUL DAY!

Back at a familiar jobsite today! 🧱
I built this patio last year, but the homeowners recently had a new driveway installed, which meant a small section of the patio had to come out to get everything done properly.
So today we're putting the pieces back together, fixing up the edging, and making sure the new driveway and existing patio look like they were always meant to be together!
Not every job is a big transformation. Sometimes it's about taking care of the little details that make all the difference.
And hey, it's always nice to come back and visit some of my previous work!

This one has definitely been a process. Every rock gets placed, moved, turned, stared at for a while… and sometimes moved again. 😂 I actually tore out a whole section of the creek because I just wasn’t happy with the way it was flowing and looking.
That’s one thing I think you get with a small company like TBG Outdoors—I’m the guy designing it, I’m the guy building it, and I’m standing there looking at it every day. If something doesn’t feel right, I’d rather tear it apart and redo it than leave it because “it’s good enough.”
And then there’s that cedar root ball… I found it along the river, knew immediately I HAD to work it into this build, and now somehow I’ve decided it needs to become the waterfall. Do I know exactly how yet? Nope. 😂 But we’ll figure it out.
This build is taking a little longer because there’s a lot of tedious rock work and a whole lot of figuring things out as I go—but that’s also what makes a custom project custom.

An hour and 20 minutes on the road for this one, but sometimes you just make it happen.
Client needed a quick yard cleanup and fresh mulch so they can get pictures taken and the house listed. Tomorrow's the deadline, so there wasn't much room on the calendar… but we'll make it work.
A little cleanup and fresh mulch can go a long way when it's time to make that first impression.

Apparently Mother Nature wanted to test the pond before I was finished building it. 😂 Good news—it holds water!
The rain has definitely slowed us down, but when Minnesota gives you a dry day, you make it count.
Back at it and keeping on keeping on. This pond and waterfall are getting closer!

It’s been a hot minute… but we’re back at it.
Bringing this tired pond back to life with a new liner, a redesigned stream, and a whole new flow. Still plenty of work ahead, but damn it feels good to be creating landscapes again.

Nearly 10 years later... and this old patio still had plenty of life left in it.
Sometimes all it takes is a thorough power wash, a good scrub and fresh stain to bring it back to life. Amazing what a little TLC can do. 🇿🇦

Pavers stained. New edging. Fresh turf. Still a few things left to do... but for now, I think I'll take a moment and just enjoy this little piece of paradise. 🔥🇿🇦

Back where it all started. 🇿🇦
In May 2016, I built my very first patio here at my mom's house using pavers i made myself. I installed the turf, and even created a custom decorative fence I hand-welded from scratch.

It could use a good power wash, fresh sealer, and the turf has earned its retirement—but after nearly a decade, I'm pretty proud of how it's held up.
Every expert started as a beginner. This little backyard was where my journey began.
