For a full remodel, plan on 5 to 7 months from the first conversation to the final walkthrough. About half of that time happens before demo day, and that planning is what keeps construction on track.

Designed for a family that gathers often, with a main floor that has a place for everyone.

The character comes from the details.

Here are nine from this Lakeville main floor remodel:
1. A stone fireplace up to the existing soffit, under 18-foot ceilings
2. White oak built-ins in a Sandalwood stain, with ch*****ne bronze hardware
3. A custom iron railing from a local ironworker
4. Tambour on the dining room walls, with sconces
5. A Tambour wall in the piano room
6. Tambour on the back of the island, with a Zellige tile backsplash
7. A custom arched hutch
8. A powder room gone dark, with wood-textured tile
9. A cabinet that hides the printer

We’re not saying a new kitchen fixes everything. 👀

We’re just saying nobody has ever been sad about warm white oak cabinets and a custom hood. 🙌

Fun fact: that hood was finished by a local artisan in a custom color and texture, and it gives the whole room its character.

What a whirlwind weekend at R20! Thank you to everyone who stopped by the Parade of Homes Remodelers Showcase. We loved meeting you, hearing about your projects, and answering your questions.

A choppy layout and a few partial walls were boxing in this Lakeville, MN kitchen. Once they came down, it got the room it was always meant to have:
