A little reminder from us at Atlas Gutters: take a look at your gutters the next time it rains.
Not from a ladder. Just from the ground. See if water is pouring over the edge, running behind them, or collecting against your house.
Those things are easy to ignore, but the damage can get expensive. The wood behind your gutters can stay wet and eventually rot. Water collecting beside the house can also contribute to basement or crawl-space moisture.
What can that cost? Published national estimates put repairs to rotted fascia and soffit at $500 to $4,000. Restoring a flooded basement can run $2,000 to $8,000, depending on the size and damage.
That doesn’t mean every leaking gutter turns into a huge bill. It means it’s worth finding out what’s wrong before you let it go another season.
We’re a small business, and we know home repairs are something people have to budget for. If you’re unsure about something, send us a picture. We can talk through what you’re seeing and whether it needs a closer look.
With leaves falling and colder weather ahead, now is a good time to check. Share this with someone who might not think to look.
