FIVE STAR COMMUNICATIONS – 21 year old Premier Telecommunications Contractor for Cox, Crown Castle and AT&T has experienced as well as Entry Level positions available for MDU (Multiple Dwelling Unit) CABLE and FIBER CONSTRUCTION TRAINEE.

**VACCINATION IS NOT A REQUIREMENT OF EMPLYOMENT**

Paid Training, Tools and Company Work Truck will be provided to the applicants that possess the following required Skills and Qualities:

* Field Tech Job Description:
· Build, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair communications systems.
· Rewire MDU (multiple Dwelling Units) for CATV/Internet with RG-6 and/or Fiber.
· Maintaining and stocking truck with all parts necessary (provided) for daily work. Working overtime when asked or when necessary.
· Self motivated to carry out work from beginning to end of shift.
· Able to carry 2’, 6’, 28’ and 32’ foot ladders on job sites and use on buildings and telephone poles. Must be comfortable working at these heights.
· Installing Cable Ready Molding on stucco wood and drywall.
· Installing lock boxes ranging in size from 12x12x8 up to 24x36x8
· Installing and splicing 540 and 715 cable, Ariel and underground, from tap at pole or ped to building.
· Installing and terminating RG6 and RG11 cables.
· Trouble shooting connectivity for CATV and Internet modems
· Use of various tools such as Hammer Drill, Saber Saw, Circular Saw, Screw drivers, Hammer, and other specialty tools.
· Reading and understanding Cox System Prints.
· Display effective communication skills with customers, Cox Inspectors and Supervisors and being able to take on and learn new skills and projects.
· Installing rooftop conduit systems.
· Completing necessary paperwork, daily and as each job is completed
· Able to lift and carry up to 75 pounds when necessary.
· Working in confined spaces such as attics and crawl spaces.
· Reading and implementing Traffic Control per plan.
· Must be able to do all the above in any type of weather condition.

Job Title: Fiber Optic Splicer

Job Description: Five Star Communications is looking for qualified energetic candidates responsible for building, maintaining, and troubleshooting Cox Communications, TMO Small Cell, Verizon, Crown Castle, Charter, Netly Fiber.

Founded in 2000, our company serves the needs of all San Diego County area MSO’s in all aspects of construction and splicing services including boring, trenching, commercial business, residential builds, Small Cell, 24hr emergency response teams etc.

A Day in the Life as a Fiber Splicer: There is no shortage of work in site! We meet at our main office at 7am and work until at least 3:30pm or later when required or necessary. Our teams are led by supervisors that strive to maintain tight project schedule that also remains flexible to accommodate for field variances. Our clients expect a lot from us. To meet their expectations requires constant communication and daily electronic document completion at each job location to keep them updated in real time.

Qualifications and responsibilities:
• Maintain and stock company truck with all parts necessary (provided) for daily work.
• Working overtime when asked to or when necessary.
• Routing yourself effectively when daily work is issued and displaying a good attitude about work at hand.
• Write work location and work performed on Five Star Paperless System
• Install and troubleshoot fiber optic cable and Splice fibers per fiber documentation.
• Operate VFL, Fiber Splicer, Power Meter, Toner, Locator and other related tools and instruments.
• Utilize OTDR to test troubleshoot and record data.
• Install related components including but not limited to: Splitters, Taps, Fiber Patch Panels, Jumpers and micro nodes.
• Access Fiber Cases in vaults, MPOE’s and Aerial on strand as needed.
• Take pre and post photos of work utilizing CompanyCam application.
• Effectively communicate with inspectors, fellow employees, and customers verbally and in writing.
• Able to carry 2’, 6’, 28’ and 32’ foot ladders on job sites for use on buildings and telephone poles. Must be comfortable working at these heights.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds when necessary.
• Occasionally working at heights at and above 21 feet using ladders, or bucket trucks.
• Adhere to OSHA safety regulations.
• Use of various tools such as Hammer Drill, Saber Saw, Circular Saw, Screw drivers, Hammer, and other specialty tools.

Basic Functions
Responsible for building, maintaining, and troubleshooting Cox Communication, Crown Castle, Charter, Netly and AT&T systems per work orders.

Responsibilities
Underground laborer and Crew Leader:
Training will be provided for both positions to bring up to speed.
• Receive work from Supervisor, perform work requested in a safe and efficient manor, fill out electronic daily reports for work performed and time spent at job.
• Completing necessary paperwork as each job is completed.
• Maintaining and stocking own truck with all parts necessary (provided) for daily work.
• Work overtime or nights when asked to or when required.
• Maintain truck and compressor (checking fluids and stop, tail and headlights regularly).
• Routing yourself effectively when daily work is issued and displaying a good attitude about work at hand.
• Must Read and Understand customer system/construction Prints.
• Able to carry 2’, 6’, 28’ and 32’ foot ladders on job sites and use on buildings and telephone poles. Must be comfortable working at these heights.
• Be safety conscience at all times during working hours.
• Identify and avoid various underground utilities when digging (reading locate marks).
• Be able to use various construction tools safely including but not limited to, 35 pound clay diggers, 90 pound jackhammers, tampers, boring equipment, asphalt/concrete cutting tools, rodders and hand digging tools, power washer, His Puller, on-board and tow behind IR air compressors.
• Remove and replace various peds and vaults where necessary.
• Able to trench by hand and machine (Bobcat).
• Set Power Supplies; install ground rods and pole anchors.
• Proof Conduit and provide As-Builts.
• Remove and replace concrete sidewalk flags, block and brick laying and finishing.
• Ability to install RG-6, RG-11, .540, .715, .625, and fiber optic cable.
• Splice 500, 540, 625 and 715 cable.
• Splice RG6 and RG11 cables and work around 90v power.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs. SAFELY (ask for help when needed)
• Must be courteous to general public, clients, fellow employees.
• Read and implement Traffic Control per plan.
• Use of various tools such as Hammer Drill, Saber Saw, Circular Saw, Screw drivers, Hammer, and other specialty tools.
• Display effective communication skills with customers, clients and Supervisors and being able to take on and learn new skills and projects.
• Adhere to OSHA safety regulations.
