Basic Functions
Responsible for building, maintaining, and troubleshooting Cox Communication, Crown Castle, Charter, Netly and AT&T systems per work orders.
Responsibilities
Underground laborer and Crew Leader:
Training will be provided for both positions to bring up to speed.
β’ Receive work from Supervisor, perform work requested in a safe and efficient manor, fill out electronic daily reports for work performed and time spent at job.
β’ Completing necessary paperwork as each job is completed.
β’ Maintaining and stocking own truck with all parts necessary (provided) for daily work.
β’ Work overtime or nights when asked to or when required.
β’ Maintain truck and compressor (checking fluids and stop, tail and headlights regularly).
β’ Routing yourself effectively when daily work is issued and displaying a good attitude about work at hand.
β’ Must Read and Understand customer system/construction Prints.
β’ Able to carry 2β, 6β, 28β and 32β foot ladders on job sites and use on buildings and telephone poles. Must be comfortable working at these heights.
β’ Be safety conscience at all times during working hours.
β’ Identify and avoid various underground utilities when digging (reading locate marks).
β’ Be able to use various construction tools safely including but not limited to, 35 pound clay diggers, 90 pound jackhammers, tampers, boring equipment, asphalt/concrete cutting tools, rodders and hand digging tools, power washer, His Puller, on-board and tow behind IR air compressors.
β’ Remove and replace various peds and vaults where necessary.
β’ Able to trench by hand and machine (Bobcat).
β’ Set Power Supplies; install ground rods and pole anchors.
β’ Proof Conduit and provide As-Builts.
β’ Remove and replace concrete sidewalk flags, block and brick laying and finishing.
β’ Ability to install RG-6, RG-11, .540, .715, .625, and fiber optic cable.
β’ Splice 500, 540, 625 and 715 cable.
β’ Splice RG6 and RG11 cables and work around 90v power.
β’ Able to lift up to 50 lbs. SAFELY (ask for help when needed)
β’ Must be courteous to general public, clients, fellow employees.
β’ Read and implement Traffic Control per plan.
β’ Use of various tools such as Hammer Drill, Saber Saw, Circular Saw, Screw drivers, Hammer, and other specialty tools.
β’ Display effective communication skills with customers, clients and Supervisors and being able to take on and learn new skills and projects.
β’ Adhere to OSHA safety regulations.
β’ Must be able to do all of the above in any type of weather condition.
