❄️ How to prevent ice dams and gutter damage: handle it before the snow shows up.

Ice dams cause expensive water damage, and the only good time to prevent them is before winter. Start by checking your roof material, because it decides which cable you can use.

• Measure three things: the gutter run, the downspout and the overhang

🧊 Thinking about roof deicing cables this winter? Install them now, not in the first storm.

Cables get stiff and hard to shape well before they reach their minimum installation temperature, and zigzagging cable on an icy roof is a hazard. Check the spec sheet for your cable's exact minimum temperature and pick a dry, mild day.

• Roof work: use fall protection and ladder safety every time
• Confirm your cable is approved for your roof material, and use the specified clips
• Never staple or nail through the cable
