Got a project coming up with us? Here's a quick way to get your home ready so the first day runs smoothly:

- Move vehicles out of the driveway so the crew has room to work.
- Take down photos and mirrors on interior walls, hammering can knock them loose.
- Move or cover patio furniture and plants close to the house.
- Set up a quiet room for pets. Roof and siding work can get loud.

Everything else is on us, including cleanup.

Questions before your start date? Just call. We'd rather over-communicate than leave you guessing.

You don't have to be a contractor to add years to your roof, siding, and gutters. A few simple habits go a long way:

- Clean your gutters twice a year, clogged gutters push water where it doesn't belong.
- Trim back branches hanging over the roof.
- Give your siding a rinse with the garden hose now and then.
- After a heavy rain, take a flashlight up to the attic and check for water stains.

One thing we'd ask you to skip: climbing up onto the roof and walking it yourself. Leave that to folks with the harness and the insurance. It's not worth a trip to the ER.

Got a question about your home's exterior? Drop it in the comments, happy to help.

How often should you have your roof inspected? ๐Ÿ”Ž

Once a year is the sweet spot โ€” ideally in spring or fall. And always after a major storm, even if everything looks fine from the ground. Wind and hail damage likes to hide until the next big rain finds it.

Think of it like an oil change for your house. Small habit, big payoff.

We offer free inspections. Want us to swing by before winter? Give us a call.

"Do I need a repair or a whole new roof?" We get this one every week.

Here's the truth: not every problem needs a full replacement. A few missing shingles after a Chicagoland windstorm? Often a quick fix. But if your roof is 20+ years old, leaks keep coming back, or granules are piling up in the gutters, a patch job is just buying time.

We'll always tell you what we'd do if it were our own house. Straight answer, fair price.

Want a second opinion? Give us a call for a free estimate. ๐Ÿ“ž

Got a window that lets the cold right in? Before you replace it, here are a few cheap ways to take the edge off:

- Find the draft, hold a candle near the frame, and watch for the flame to flicker.
- Add weatherstripping around the sash. Cheap and quick.
- Caulk the gaps on the exterior trim.
- Try window insulation film for the winter, the shrink-wrap kind actually works.

These are band-aids, and that's fine. But if your windows are foggy between the panes, painted shut, or just plain old, they're costing you every month on heating. That's when a replacement pays for itself.

Want us to take a look and tell you if it's worth replacing yet? Give us a call, honest answer, no pressure.

Chicagoland storms don't mess around. After the next big one, here's a safe way to check your roof โ€” feet on the ground:

- Walk your yard. Shingle pieces, granules, or metal in the grass usually means damage up top.
- Look up with binoculars or your phone's zoom. Watch for missing, lifted, or cracked shingles.
- Check inside, ceilings and the attic for fresh water spots.
- Look at gutters, downspouts, and screens. Hail hits those first.

Please stay off the roof. That's what we're for. If something looks wrong, take a few photos and give us a call. We'll come out, tell you what we see, and walk you through the insurance claim if it comes to that.

No pressure. Just an honest look.
