I looked it up today.
43% of newly licensed architects are women. Not bad.
But only 28% of all licensed architects are women.
Only 17% of women are principal or partner.
And of the 100 largest firms in this country? Three are owned/run by a woman.
Three. So I stopped waiting for a seat at somebody’s table. It doesn’t mean I wouldn’t have made it. But I didn’t want to wait.
I built the table for myself.
In architecture, somewhere between “licensed” and “owner,” most of us disappear. Nobody talks about where we go. We work for others, we make decisions, we design, we have a say, but for some reason we have a hard time going past a certain point. Is it because we are scared to ask? Or because when we ask we get denied?

I came into this from that spot trying to build a multi-faceted business. I’ve stood in mud on a job site and had a GC explain my own drawings back to me and tell me how I should do things different. We’re not perfect and we always have things ti learn. I’ve made mistakes, missteps, and errors. Ive been told what I’m doing isn’t good enough, even to this day. I’ve also been told how incredible I am. I’ve been told how to do things and have had things demanded of me and it’s taken YEARS to learn how to respond. I’ve made wonderful friends in this industry, supportive contractors and build partners, realtors, designers, vendors and tradespeople, and friends and family. To everyone out there supporting us and eachother, especially to all of the women out there killing it day to day to be an absolute Boss, this is a thank you! Now, let’s keep going. And make our tables the most badass tables they can be.

Coastal, but make it classic.

Whole home remodel, top to bottom, soft neutrals that know when to shut up, and color that absolutely does not 🍾 Every window earns its view. Every room feels like someone actually lives here. Mixing materials, woods and textures.

Feminine, not fragile. Elevated, not precious.
This remodel was a labor of love and we are so stoked for our clients finally getting to live in their dream home :)

Not every staging starts from scratch. This one began with pieces the homeowners already loved — the dining table, the slipcovered sofa — we just shifted the style around them to let the water do the talking. Bouclé in place of black leather, layered linens, new accessories and florals, sun-washed tones, and a rug that finally matches the view instead of fighting it. A few details left to finish, then it’s listing day. Any takers?

What a kitchen remodel really costs in the greater Seattle area 🤍

Let’s talk honest numbers. For a decent-sized kitchen taken down to the studs — new cabinetry, stone surfaces, lighting, and all the trades to make it work — most projects land between $150K and $350K.

Sycamore Lane is our love letter to saturated walls, Unlacquered brass, real marble, and styling that makes a gut remodel feel like it’s been quietly collecting stories for decades.
A few things we refuse to apologize for:
→ A powder room moodier than your favorite cocktail bar
→ Open shelving curated like a museum (the china earned it)
→ Finding any excuse for an arched doorway
→ Giving the laundry room better lighting than most living rooms
Classic details, modern restraint, and not a single beige candle in sight.

A staged home doesn’t just look nicer, it sells smarter. ✨
Empty rooms make buyers guess. Staging answers the questions for them: what’s this room for, will my furniture fit, where do I look first? Swipe through five things great staging does that four bare walls never can. →
Thinking of listing this season? Let’s talk about getting your home show-ready! We can help with more than staging also!
📌 Save this for when you’re ready to sell, and send it to a friend who’s listing soon.

The age-old question: Is staging worth it? 🤔

Our answer will always be a big, enthusiastic YES. ✨

Not because we’re biased (okay… maybe a little), but because staging creates that emotional connection that helps people truly feel a home. It can highlight the beauty that’s already there or help buyers imagine the potential in a space that might need a little love.

And here’s the fun part: we’re not just stagers. We’re architects and interior designers who specialize in space planning, so showing how a home can actually live and function is our favorite thing to do.

Our ultimate goal?
To stage a home so beautifully and so functionally that the sellers start thinking…
“Wait… should we keep it?” 😂

(Don’t worry… they still sell. Usually.)
