Once a storm passes, resist the urge to immediately flip the power back on. Here's what to check first:

✅ Look for visible water intrusion around outlets, panels, or fixtures
✅ Check for any burning smell before restoring power
✅ Inspect your panel for signs of flooding or debris
✅ Never wade through standing water near electrical equipment
✅ When in doubt, have a licensed electrician inspect before you restore power

A few extra minutes of caution can prevent a much bigger problem.

"Ronnie gets a 10 out of 10 AGAIN!!!"

We love a repeat customer — especially one who trusted Ronnie's recommendation on a previous generator hookup, then called him back to finish the job with a surge protector. That's what long-term relationships with our clients look like: one honest recommendation at a time.

Thank you, Berman Realty, for having us back!

Extension cords are great for a weekend project or holiday lights but they're not meant to be a permanent power source.

Running major appliances (window AC units, refrigerators, freezers) off an extension cord long-term can overheat the cord, overload the circuit, and create a real fire risk. If you find yourself relying on one every day, that's a sign you need an additional outlet installed — not a longer cord.

We can add outlets exactly where you need them, safely and to code.

If the power goes out during a storm, here's what to do first:

1️⃣ Unplug sensitive electronics to protect them from surges when power returns
2️⃣ Never run a generator indoors or in a garage
3️⃣ Avoid downed power lines — always assume they're live
4️⃣ Check your breaker panel only if it's dry and safe to access
5️⃣ Call a professional before restoring power if you smell burning or see damage

Stay safe out there, South Florida.

Before the next storm system forms, here's a quick checklist for your electrical panel:

✅ No signs of rust, corrosion, or water intrusion
✅ Breakers are labeled and functioning correctly
✅ No warm spots or burning smell near the panel
✅ Surge protection is installed and active
✅ Generator transfer switch (if you have one) is tested

A 15-minute inspection now can save you a much bigger headache mid-storm. Want us to run through it for you?

Installing a ceiling fan looks like a weekend project — until you're standing on a ladder realizing the electrical box in your ceiling isn't rated to hold the weight or handle the motion of a spinning fan.

Standard light fixture boxes aren't built for the load and wobble a ceiling fan creates over time, which can lead to it working loose or, in worse cases, falling. A proper install uses a fan-rated box, correct wiring, and secure bracing — all things worth having a professional confirm before you flip the switch.

Not sure whether you need a portable generator or a whole-home standby system? Here's the short version:

🔌 Portable generators are budget-friendly and cover essentials (fridge, some lights, a window unit) — but need manual setup and fuel management during a storm.

🏠 Whole-home standby systems install permanently, kick on automatically, and can power your entire house — AC included — for as long as the outage lasts.

The right choice depends on your home, budget, and how long outages typically last in your area. Happy to walk you through it.

"Kasper Electric is the only company that we will use."

That kind of trust doesn't happen after one good visit — it's built over years of showing up, answering the phone, and doing the job right the first time. Thank you, Chuck, for the incredibly kind words and for being part of the Kasper family.

A warm outlet. A faint buzzing sound. A slightly discolored faceplate. These are easy to ignore — until they're not.

These small warning signs often mean loose wiring, an overloaded circuit, or a failing outlet, and any of them can become a fire risk if left unaddressed. If something feels off with an outlet in your home, it's always worth having it checked out rather than waiting to see if it gets worse.

When in doubt, get it checked out.
