Loose Connections Can Become Serious Problems ⚡️

As a Tesla Certified Installer for several years, I’ve learned that taking the time to follow every step and verify your work is critical to creating a safe, long-lasting electrical installation.

Loose connections and improperly torqued terminals create heat—and heat can lead to arcing, equipment damage, and potentially fire.

As a 20-year service electrician with experience in residential and commercial new construction, tenant improvements, troubleshooting, and electrical service work, it never surprises me when an electrical issue traces back to something as simple as a connection that wasn’t properly tightened.

Whether it’s an apprentice or a 40-year veteran electrician, experience doesn’t replace verification. If the manufacturer specifies a torque, use a calibrated torque wrench and verify it.

Don’t just assume it’s a good connection—verify it.

⚡ GOT POWER SURGES? PROTECT YOUR HOME & EQUIPMENT! ⚡

Recently completed a whole-home Surge Protective Device (SPD) installation along with a full residential electrical panel inspection.

During the inspection, I:
• Installed a whole-home SPD for surge protection
• Tested and cycled each breaker
• Found and replaced 5 faulty breakers that were approximately 35 years old
• Identified and corrected breakers that were incorrectly sized for the wire
• Re-torqued the main breaker and individual breaker connections
• Verified circuit destinations throughout the home
• Properly labeled the electrical panel for easier identification

⚠️ FYI: If your home has sub-panels, it is recommended that each panel have its own properly installed SPD for protection.

Surge Protective Devices have been included in the NEC requirements since 2020 for many dwelling-unit services. Do you have one protecting your home?

Good morning Lake Havasu City. 2 calls with pool pump issues. Started with installing a GFCI breaker providing critical personal safety, replacing GFCI, attacked an incorrect voltage wiring on a new installed pool pump. 🤙🏻
Next stop was another bad breaker, after the rain, GFCI breaker wouldn’t turn on. Replaced, labeled circuit destination upon verification.
Be safe out there, protect human life with a GFCI breaker and stay code compliant.

EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY! I got a call at 830PM at a AIRBNB with power loss in a kitchen. Keeping all my customers happy is KEY.
-Yes the problem was a circuit overloaded at 24.3 Amps. WHY?
-Not do I give the highest quality of detail to a call, I give a solution, I fix the issue and explain what is happening and why, I monitor the circuit by recording exactly what the power is doing and make a graph.

****This Main Electrical Panel was installed in a way to cause a fire. The main bussing which holds the breakers in place, had 9 Tandem breakers ( 18 circuits ) This is illegal and a dangerous violation. Poor physical connections will cause heat , arching and damage the bussing = Fire, melting or a full panel replacement.

I finished working with a new customer who needed updated electrical. I preformed a Panel inspection, labeling of circuitry , troubleshooting, adding lights, fans, dedicated power for garage, and discrete tv outlets .
While not required here in Arizona , i am a current state certified Electrician and have been for over 16 years working as a service electrician in commercial residential industrial for a total of 20 years.
