Client-friendly design process in which asking the right questions, listening, and making recommendations based on knowledge and experience, produces exceptional results! My Philosophy:

Homes and places of business, whether modest or grand, enrich the lives of those who experience them when their design is approached as a holistic union of Art, Craft and Service. Art, because the design should be evidence of creativity and a commitment to beauty, both inside and out. Craft, because not only the structure but the plan and elevations should be put together with a sense of proportion and order, as well as function. Service, because the act of designing should be focused on the those who will live with the end result. Serving Acadiana, Lafayette area, Southwest Louisiana, Lake Charles area, Baton Rouge area, Covington, Northshore, New Orleans area, Gulf Coast. Free initial consultation outside the Lafayette area can be done by phone or, for a reasonable reimbursement of travel expenses, at your location.

In the early centuries of Christianity, many churches were existing buildings that were “repurposed”, in one case a 5th century B.C. Greek temple in Siracusa, Sicily. (See article in comments) Our design for the Adoration Chapel at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Carencro, Louisiana, was inspired by the Siracusa Duomo, recalling the early history of the church.

Craftsman Bungalow style, currently under construction in Crowley, LA.

“A Craftsman bungalow is a 1-to-1.5-story home style that emerged in the United States around 1905 and remained popular through the 1930s as an affordable, artistic housing choice for the middle class. The name: "Bungalow" comes from the word bangala, referring to 18th-century low-roofed huts in Bengal, India, which the British adapted into colonial-era single-family rest houses. "Craftsman" comes from furniture maker Gustav Stickley and his influential magazine, The Craftsman, launched in 1901. Arts and Crafts Movement: The style reacted against ornate Victorian mass-production, promoting handcraftsmanship, natural materials, and structural honesty.
Key Figures: California architects Charles and Henry Greene designed high-end "ultimate bungalows," while Stickley and mail-order catalog companies like Sears popularized modest home plans nationwide.
Defining Architectural Features: Low-pitched gabled roofs, wide overhanging eaves, exposed rafter tails, and decorative knee braces.Porches: Prominent front porches supported by heavy square or tapered columns resting on massive stone or brick piers.” Google AI

New Orleans’ Roman Ruins

🏛️ It might look like we found Roman ruins in New Orleans, but this is Piazza d’Italia, a monument built in 1978 to honor the Italian immigrants who helped shape this city.

🇮🇹 Thousands of Italians, many from Sicily, came to New Orleans in the late 1800s. So many settled in and around the French Quarter that part of the area became known as Little Palermo. Their influence became a huge part of the food, businesses, traditions, and culture that make New Orleans what it is today.

⚖️ But their story here wasn’t always an easy one. In 1891, 11 Italian men were lynched in New Orleans following the murder of Police Chief David Hennessy, an event now recognized as the largest documented mass lynching in U.S. history.

🎥 We did a full-length YouTube video exploring Piazza d’Italia and the history behind it. Watch it here:
