We're at CTO Clinic today. Come find us at Booth #1!

If you're thinking about security or technology upgrades, stop by and let's talk. We're not here to run through a product catalog. We want to hear what your system looks like right now and help you think through what actually makes sense.

And make sure to join us for our session this afternoon at 12:10 PM. We'll be walking through how to build a security roadmap that holds up over time, not just for the next project, but for the long haul.

See you there.

CTO Clinic is two days away and if you're going, here's where to find us. 👇

If your security system feels like it was built in pieces over the years (because it probably was) you're not the only one.

That's the reality for most schools. And it's not a criticism of past decisions; it's just what happens when you're solving problems one budget cycle at a time without a bigger plan holding it together.

That's the conversation we're having at CTO Clinic this week.

📍 Booth #1 — stop by anytime and we'll talk through where your system stands and what a different path forward could look like.

🎤 Session: Thursday, May 7 at 12:10 PM — we'll walk through the Security Grand Plan framework alongside a school that's already been through the process.

Come with questions. We'll have the answers.

We've been talking a lot about building a "Security Grand Plan"

So what does that actually mean in practice?

It's not a complicated concept. It just means approaching your school or organization intentionally instead of reactively.

In real terms, that looks like understanding where your biggest vulnerabilities are before deciding what to buy, making sure each upgrade builds on the last instead of working around it, and having a roadmap that keeps your budget aligned with your actual priorities, not just whatever problem surfaced most recently.

Most schools already have pieces of a good system. The gap is usually in how those pieces fit together (or don't).

We're walking through this framework at CTO Clinic on Thursday, May 7 after lunch. If you're attending, it's worth the 30 minutes. We'll have a practical conversation with one of our school partners and provide real, honest insight into making the process smarter not harder.

If you're planning security or technology upgrades, here's one question worth asking before you commit:

Does everything you're adding actually work with what you already have?

It sounds basic, but it's where a lot of schools get tripped up...
👉 A new camera that doesn't integrate with your existing VMS.
👉 Connectivity upgrades that weren't sized for what the building actually needs.
👉 Individual purchases that made sense on paper but created more complexity in practice.

The difference between a security system and a security patchwork usually comes down to whether there was a plan before the purchases... not after.

If you want to talk through what that looks like for your district, we're at CTO Clinic next week. Or reach out anytime.

CTO Clinic Session Preview 👇

Most school security upgrades happen in pieces, and over time, that creates more problems than it solves.

At CTO Clinic, we're breaking down what a different approach looks like: starting with a plan, building a system that connects, and making sure every upgrade fits the bigger picture.

📅 Thursday, May 7 - Friday, May 8
📍 Booth #1 — CTO Clinic

If you're responsible for planning, approving, or funding security upgrades in your district, this session is built for you. We'll walk through how to assess where you are, identify the gaps, and build a roadmap that holds up over time, not just for next summer, but for the years ahead.

Come with questions. We'll have answers.

Many school security and access control systems are assembled piece by piece.

A camera project one year when there's enough budget left to squeeze it in. Access control the next. Connectivity added in later when it became a problem. Each decision made sense at the time, but the full picture wasn't top of mind.

That's how you end up with systems that don't communicate, coverage gaps you didn't notice until something happened, and upgrade costs that keep climbing because nothing was built to scale.

We work with schools to step back before the next project starts. To look at what they have, where the gaps are, and what a long-term plan actually looks like. So every dollar spent moves them closer to a system that works, not just a system that exists.

We'll be discussing this exact issue at the Indiana CTO Clinic on May 7 and 8 in Noblesville. Join us at booth 1 or during our session. Sign up before it's too late!

We're heading to CTO Clinic (May 7–8), and if you're thinking about security or technology upgrades, we'd love to connect.

We often see schools making solid individual decisions with a camera system here, access control there. But over time without a larger plan connecting it all, that approach costs more, creates gaps, and leaves you with a system that was never really designed to work together.

At Indiana CTO Clinic, we'll be at Booth #1 talking about what it looks like to build a Security Grand Plan: a roadmap that guides your upgrades instead of leaving you to figure it out one budget cycle at a time.

If you're attending, stop by. If not, keep an eye out, we'll be sharing more on this topic over the next few weeks.
