Remarkable design outcomes rarely fit neatly into a timeline.

They begin with a conversation, and evolve through hundreds of decisions. They echo long after our work on installation day.

Over time, we become familiar with the nuances that don't show up on a questionnaire. The morning coffee rituals. The family weeknight dinners wedged between sports practices and study time. The mudrooms that keep the clutter organized and the laundry running smoothly. The details that bring a sense of comfort and familiarity.

Perhaps that's why so many of our clients invite us back when life changes. Whether that's a child going to college, a cross-country move for work, or a new chapter as a blended family.

The work becomes less about designing a single house and more about helping people navigate these next chapters with confidence.

This 1930s cottage got a new lease on life.

We carried the joy and charm of this historic home forward into the present. A swath of fresh colors and patterns brighten each room. Cheerful mustard kitchen cabinets. Blush pink and botanicals in the primary bathroom. Textured, grounding neutrals in the family room. And a signature Hamilton Blue that ties each space together intentionally.

With the install finally complete, we're thrilled for this family to enjoy their newly reimagined, soulful home.

We don't treat styling and accessorizing as an afterthought.

And that's because those layers are the most personal. They tell a story through art, antiques, heirlooms, or objects that mean something to our clients.

In a brand new home, these finishing touches are paramount. They make a home feel warm, lived-in, unique, and emotionally resonant.

One of our clients recently shared that he won’t put an offer on a home until we’ve walked it first.

It’s not an uncommon request. We’re often invited to walk a property before a client makes an offer, not only to evaluate its design potential, but to consider that potential through the lens of the people who may live there. After all, some of the most consequential design decisions happen long before a home is purchased.

Our clients loved their home. They just couldn't see a path to making it feel like their own.

Inherited from their parents, the house carried decades of history and cherished memories. But it also felt dark and heavy. Overly formal.

We stepped in to help them embrace the home's rich legacy, while also ushering it into a new chapter.

Crisp blue and white palettes, natural textures, rattan shades, and playful layers of floral and gingham weave throughout the home. Even the original sofas remained, thoughtfully reworked to preserve their history while giving them a lighter, more current presence.

"You designed the home I didn't know how to ask for."

A client shared that sentiment with me recently, and it left me speechless.

Not because we delivered something unexpected, but because it perfectly captured what I believe our role is as designers.

Most clients don't come to us with a fully formed vision. They come with fragments. A feeling they want to experience when they walk through the door. A desire for more connection, more ease, more beauty, more belonging. They know something isn't quite right, but they don't always have the language to articulate what they want "home" to be.

The crucial part of our job is listening closely enough to hear what's being said between the lines.

To uncover needs that haven't yet been expressed. To anticipate possibilities they may not have considered. To translate a feeling into something tangible.

The greatest compliment is hearing a home feels like them in a way they couldn't have imagined on their own.

When people see a finished home, they're seeing the final chapter.

What they don't see are the months (and often years) that came before it.

The site walks. The coordination meetings. The layout revisions. The material reviews. The countless conversations that ensure every decision supports the larger vision.

Our clients hire us for the big picture. To guide the entire process, advocate for the integrity of the design, speak the language of construction to contractors and tradespeople, and help navigate the hundreds of decisions required to bring a home to life.

It's detailed work. Often quiet work.

But it's what creates a luxurious, turnkey home.

Our client wanted a home that felt joyful, welcoming, and filled with "happy colors", a landing place where family and friends would gather and recharge.

Playful patterns, cheerful color, and just enough whimsy bring the character, while thoughtful design keeps everything ready for everyday living.

People think interior designers swoop in once it’s time to pick out furniture.

In fact, we’d rather meet you before construction even starts. Because by the time builders arrive on site, many of the decisions that affect a home's design have already been made.

Early collaboration gives us the opportunity to establish a strong foundation and help clients avoid costly course corrections later.

The sooner we begin the conversation, the more possibilities remain on the table.

"We'll start with just one room."

We've heard some version of that countless times over the years.

A living room that didn't suit entertaining. A kitchen that felt too cramped to cook family meals. A mudroom that became a haphazard drop zone. A primary suite that felt disconnected from the rest of the home.

Then something interesting happens.

Once one space begins working better, clients start to notice everything around it. The opportunities they couldn't quite see before, and the ways the rest of the home could support them more intentionally.
