Tomorrow, we will lay our longtime friend Roland Lopez to rest. 🕊️
Roland was a part of our lives for nearly 30 years, and when someone has been around that long, they become part of your family’s story.
It wasn’t always a perfect story. There were good times, difficult times, disagreements, laughter, frustration, and plenty of ups and downs along the way. But through it all, Roland was a decent person, a good guy, and someone who made an impact on our family.
Roland was also an important part of JenPro Roofing, Jennifer’s company and something all of us helped make a reality. As an independent contractor and project manager, Roland went out on estimates, ran jobs, worked with customers, and helped keep things moving. He played an important role in helping Jennifer build JenPro Roofing, and that will always be part of its history.
Roland also thought the world of my son Jacob and looked up to him almost as if he were his own son. I know how much Jacob meant to him.
Roland and I didn’t always see eye to eye. Anyone who knows me knows I’m pretty blunt, and I never had much trouble telling Roland exactly what I thought. There were times I could be a real sh****ad to him, and he knew it. But even then, Roland would tell me that he appreciated me. He respected me, and I respected him enough to always be straight with him. Looking back now, those words mean even more to me.
At the end of the day, despite all the ups and downs over nearly three decades, Roland was part of our lives and part of our family’s history. We are saddened by his passing, but I’m also thankful that he is finally at peace and no longer suffering.
For those who knew Roland through Jennifer, me, our family, or through JenPro Roofing over the years and would like the opportunity to come say one final goodbye, you are welcome to join us tomorrow.
