You just got your mold test results back. There are numbers, species names, and terminology that looks like it belongs in a lab report. Here is how to actually make sense of it. 🔬
The most important thing on your report is not any single number. It is the comparison between indoor and outdoor spore counts. If indoor levels are significantly higher than outdoor levels for any species, that suggests an active indoor source.
Some species matter more than others. Stachybotrys and Chaetomium are water-damage indicators. If they show up indoors at any level, investigation is warranted regardless of count. 😶
And even if your report looks normal, humidity above 60% means conditions are right for mold growth. Controlling your environment with a commercial-grade dehumidifier is one of the best preventive steps you can take. 🧡
