Yep…we’re still here. 👈🏼👈🏼👈🏼

We’ve just been too busy building landscapes to spend much time on social media.🪏🪨🪏

Around here, we’d rather let our work do the talking.

Here’s a before and after from one that’s hard to put into words.

We build plenty of retaining walls, patios, outdoor living spaces, and landscapes, and we’re thankful for every one of them. But every once in a while, a project comes along that isn’t just another job—it becomes a chance to create something special, something unique.

No drawings. No blueprint. No step-by-step plan. Just a client who trusted us, a crew that takes pride in their craft, and the freedom to build something from the ground up.

What came out of it is something we’re incredibly proud of. Around here, we don’t just move dirt and stack stone—we build places families will enjoy for years to come. This one feels more like artwork than landscaping.

A huge thank you to SiteOne Landscape Supply, everyone who put their hands on this project, and especially our client. Thank you for trusting us with your vision. We’re grateful to call you a friend.🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

This is why we do what we do. Hard work. Honest craftsmanship. No shortcuts.

🧍🧍🧍Happy Father’s Day! 🧍🧍🧍
Today, we celebrate all the dads, grandfathers, stepdads, and father figures who work hard, lead by example, and help things grow—both in their families and in their communities.
Just like a beautiful landscape takes care, patience, and dedication, so does raising a family. We’re grateful for the fathers who spend weekends in the yard, teach life lessons under the shade of a tree, and create outdoor spaces where memories are made.
From all of us at River Valley, we wish you a relaxing and well-deserved Father’s Day. May your day be filled with family, laughter, and time spent enjoying the outdoors.

💚 Happy Father’s Day!

🌿 Native Perennials: A Smart Choice for East Tennessee Landscapes 🌿

East Tennessee is blessed with incredible natural beauty, and one of the best ways to preserve it is by incorporating native perennials into our landscapes.

Native plants have adapted to our local soils, rainfall patterns, and climate over thousands of years. As a result, they thrive with less water, require fewer chemical inputs, and often need less maintenance than non-native plants.

Beyond their beauty, native perennials provide vital food and habitat for pollinators, birds, and other wildlife. Plants such as Purple Coneflower, Black-Eyed Susan, Butterfly W**d, Bee Balm, and Goldenrod help support the butterflies and native bees that keep our ecosystems healthy.

Benefits of planting native perennials in East Tennessee:
🌼 Support local pollinators and wildlife
💧 Reduce water consumption
🌱 Improve soil health and reduce erosion
🦋 Increase biodiversity
🌿 Create a landscape that thrives naturally in our region

By choosing native plants, you’re not just creating a beautiful landscape—you’re investing in the health and sustainability of East Tennessee’s environment for years to come.

What are your favorite East Tennessee native plants? Let us know in the comments!

There are two types of projects!

One is creating outdoor living projects and areas for family and friends to gather.

The other, less common, is to recreate and even improve what we would find in nature.

This project falls in the second group.

By using native perennials we are helping improve nature through pollinators like 🐝 and 🦋.

Utilizing other products like river rock and boulders for function and contrast really help make a project feel even more natural!

If we can come close to bringing the hills and mountains of east TN to your property, we consider that a win! Plus, there’s no traffic!

Pavers and stone roads and walkways aren’t a new thing!

They’re really old. Really old!!!

Stone roads first originated around 4,000 B.C. These were found in Ancient Mesopotamia. Some of these roads still exist in Babylon.

But we all have seen the Roman roads from around 312 B.C. 🏛️🏺🏛️

This isn’t that old but it makes you wonder if someone will dig it up in a 1000 years. 🤔🤔🤔

Either way this is a beautiful apron created from natural Tennessee stone. Hand placed and chiseled!

This is the proverbial light at the end of the tunnel for landscapers!!!!

🌧️🌧️🌧️We needed the rain and probably need a little more but we sure are glad to see it coming to an end!!!

If you’ve found new drainage issues as a result of this rain, we can fix it!!

It’s always a huge help when clients take videos or pictures of their water issues!

Enjoy the weather coming up!
