It’s been great to see Northshore Town Center getting some attention lately.

We’ve been part of the residential side of this community since the early days, and we have also been fortunate to call it home ourselves.

What we’ve always appreciated about Northshore Town Center is the concept behind it — making thoughtful use of the land by bringing homes, businesses, restaurants, schools, and everyday conveniences together in a walkable community. It’s a different approach to growth, and after all these years, it’s rewarding to see how well it has come together.

Not every homeowner can be on site for every decision—and they shouldn’t have to be.

When questions come up in the field, sometimes the best way to communicate a detail is simply to pull out a phone and walk through it together. Here, Rusty Parks with Parks And Sons is talking our homeowner through the staircase and handrail details so she can see exactly how everything will come together.

And there’s a fun story behind this one. The homeowner and our interior designer Holly Hill envisioned a leather-wrapped handrail for the home. When Holly talked with Rusty about it, she learned he’d done a leather-wrapped handrail before… at the Louis Vuitton store in Los Angeles. How’s that for experience? 🤎

Back-to-back planning meetings on site with our homeowners, interior designer Holly Hill , project manager Cole, and our trade partners—walking through plans, talking through details, and making sure everyone is on the same page as this home comes together.

This kind of collaboration is such an important part of the custom home process. Bringing everyone together in the space means questions get answered, details are communicated, and our homeowners’ vision stays at the center of every decision.

Not every day on a job site goes according to plan… and sometimes, that’s a good thing. 🐝

While preparing a homesite, our team discovered a young colony of honeybees had made a home inside a dead tree.

Rather than simply removing it, our project manager, Kevin Smith, contacted the wonderful folks at Honeybee Holler. With their guidance—and a borrowed bee suit—Kevin carefully cut down the tree so the section containing the hive could be safely removed and relocated to the farm.

The best part? The bees have a new home, and our homeowners will receive a jar of honey from the very hive that once lived on their property.

Building exceptional homes means caring for more than what’s being built. It means respecting the land, protecting local wildlife whenever we can, and doing the right thing—even when it takes a little extra effort.

A big thank you to Honeybee Holler for helping us give this colony a safe new home… and to Kevin for adding “beekeeper” to his résumé for the day. 🍯🐝
