🚨 STORM ALERT – NORTH CAROLINA 🚨
North Carolina is facing a high-risk winter storm, with snow and ice expected in areas that typically aren’t built for prolonged freezing conditions. This significantly increases the risk of roof damage and interior leaks.
⚠️ This type of storm poses a higher-than-normal risk for NC homes.
❄️ What to watch for immediately:
• Ice damming: Ice forming along roof edges and gutters can trap melting snow, forcing water back under shingles and into your home.
• Active or sudden leaks: Water stains, ceiling drips, bubbling drywall, or damp attic insulation are urgent warning signs.
• Frozen or overloaded gutters: Heavy ice can block drainage, pull gutters loose, and cause water to back up under the roof.
• Shingle failure: Rapid freeze/thaw cycles can crack, lift, or dislodge shingles, exposing your roof to water intrusion.
• Structural stress: Snow and ice add weight—especially dangerous for older roofs or previously repaired areas.
🚫 Do NOT attempt to get on your roof during icy conditions. This is extremely dangerous and can cause further damage or injury.
If you experience any leaks or signs of roof damage, contact Goliath Roofing Inc. immediately. Once conditions are safe enough for travel, we will respond as quickly as possible to help protect your home and limit further damage.
Please stay safe, stay warm, and keep an eye on your home during this storm.
