WHAT IT MEANS TO CARRY THE WEIGHT
This photo might look like a man working with his hands.
But to me, it represents something much bigger.
It represents being a dad. A husband. A business owner. A provider. A dreamer.
And sometimes… those roles pull you in every direction.
Work more — and you wonder if you’re missing too much time with your family.
Work less — and you wonder if you’re doing enough to provide.
Put yourself first — and you feel selfish.
Put yourself last — and eventually you feel empty.
Rest — and that little voice tells you that you should be working.
Keep pushing — and eventually you can burn yourself completely out.
Ask for help — and sometimes pride makes you feel weak.
Stay quiet — and you carry the entire weight yourself.
That’s the battle a lot of men fight that nobody ever sees.
I’ve spent a lot of my life working with my hands, building businesses, chasing dreams, trying to provide for my family and trying to build something my boys can be proud of.
But being a good husband and father isn’t just about how much money you make.
It isn’t about how many hours you work.
It isn’t about never getting tired.
And it sure isn’t about having everything figured out.
It’s about showing up.
Showing up for your wife.
Showing up for your kids.
Showing up when business is good and when business is struggling.
Showing up when you’re confident and when you’re questioning every decision you’ve made.
Showing up when your hands hurt, your body is tired and your mind has another hundred things running through it.
There is a weight that comes with wanting more for your family.
But there is also an incredible purpose in it.
I’m building more than products in this shop.
I’m building memories.
I’m building a family business.
I’m teaching my boys what it means to create something with your own two hands.
I’m showing them that dreams require work, failure, patience, sacrifice and the courage to keep going.
And through all of it, I’m trying to remember something myself:
Success means very little if you lose the people you’re doing it all for.
The goal isn’t to choose between being a great husband, a great dad or a successful business owner.
The goal is to keep learning how to carry all three.
Some days I’ll get the balance right.
Some days I won’t.
But I’ll keep showing up.
For my wife.
For my boys.
For our future.
For the life we’re building together.
Because at the end of the day, I don’t want my legacy to simply say:
“He worked hard.”
I want it to say:
“He loved his family fiercely, chased his dreams relentlessly, built something with his own hands, and brought his family along for the ride.”
That’s the man I’m trying to be.
Every single day. 🔥
