Robby Moon, KPM Franklin’s CEO and principal, recently delivered two land development presentations to commercial real estate agents, brokers, realtors and other industry professionals enrolled in the Orlando Regional REALTOR® Association (ORRA) Commercial Council Mentorship Program.

The seven-month program is designed to cultivate the next generation of Central Florida commercial real estate (CRE) professionals and taught by local experts and leaders active in the CRE industry.

Participants meet monthly at ORRA’s headquarters to learn about relevant CRE topics such as land development, site analysis, leasing and commercial property investment. Many participants are on the residential side and looking to transition to or add commercial real estate to their business.

Robby’s land development presentation provided a deep dive into the technical aspects of land development and the critical due diligence phase of commercial real estate transactions. Attendees gained insight into evaluating land development opportunities, identifying potential risks and collaborating effectively with the broader development team to move projects from concept to completion.

A hearty thanks to ORRA and Darrel Andre DeLoatch, a director on ORRA’s Board, for the warm introduction of Robby at the beginning of each session and to all the dedicated professionals who attended.

Last week, KPM Franklin’s Orlando and Kissimmee offices split into several teams to test their mystery solving skills at Dare 2 Escape, an immersive, narrative-driven escape room attraction in Kissimmee.

Congrats to Adriana Lopez, Kyle Richard, Christopher Velazquez, Dominic McFall and Emily Martins for clocking in the fastest escape. These slick-minded sleuths completed the Camp Harvest Moon challenge in only 30 minutes!

Construction is underway at the Canoe Creek Reserve project site in St. Cloud. KPM Franklin is providing land surveying, civil engineering and landscape architectural design services for this http://346.3-acre multiuse development. Our first aerial flight shows the first phase of construction is progressing on model homes, stormwater ponds and other infrastructure. Crews have installed landscaping and paved Slyewood http://Blvd., which connects the main entrance to Canoe Creek Road.

When complete, Canoe Creek Reserve will include 764 single family and townhome residential units and a neighborhood commercial center.

KPM Franklin is proud to announce Luis Barsotti has joined our Orlando engineering department as a senior landscape architect.

Luis graduated from Boston Architectural College with a bachelor's degree in landscape architecture. He received his masters of design in urban design from Northeastern University. Luis arrives with more than 10 years of experience in public and government land development projects.

Outside of work, Luis enjoys traveling and visiting park and botanical gardens to explore different landscapes. He is an avid F1 fan and loves racing go-karts with his son and spending the day at the beach with his family.

KPM Franklin celebrated its annual National Paper Airplane Day flight competition yesterday. Our engineers, surveyors, planners and landscape architects in Orlando and Kissimmee put their design and folding skills to the test before competing to see whose paper airplane could fly the farthest.

Congratulations to the winners this year, Juan Gomez, engineering intern, in Kissimmee, and Phil Hollimon, project manager, in Orlando.

KPM Franklin is providing civil engineering design and land surveying services as a member of a team selected by the City of Kissimmee to redevelop the former Kmart property at 2211 W. Vine Street in Kissimmee, Fla. Vine Street Redevelopment, LLC led by CapStrata Commercial and Hedrick Brothers Construction will develop Edon Park on the 22-acre site. The mixed-use development will include 51,000 square feet of retail and commercial space, 630 new residential units and a 73,400-square-foot indoor sports facility.

Yesterday, engineers from our Orlando and Kissimmee offices attended the ASCE East Central Branch Icebreaker event that took place in the DinoDigs and Our Planet exhibit halls at the Orlando Science Center. In addition to providing opportunities to network with more than 350 engineers from the Central Florida area, the event also was a fundraiser for ASCE’s ECB student and education outreach programs. KPM contributed as an appetizer sponsor.
