We are taking a moment to celebrate what God is doing at Hope Seals! We are loving every minute of getting to know our customers, serving our community, and watching the MEN OF THE ARENA show up every single day.

These men are working hard. Leading. Learning. Supporting their families. Giving back. Choosing growth. Fighting for more.

They are the rising stars of Hope Seals, and we are so incredibly grateful to be part of their story.

Did you know? Hope Seals is more than asphalt.

Hope Seals is the for-profit leg of our mission — creating opportunities through job training, workforce development, mentorship, and fair wages for men rebuilding after incarceration.

And alongside that work is Hope Stays, our 501(c)(3) nonprofit arm.

While Hope Seals helps create employment pathways, Hope Stays exists to keep dreaming bigger.

Right now we provide daily hot meals and wrap-around support, but we are believing for more.

We dream of continuing to break barriers through:

❤️ Strong community partnerships

After experiencing incarceration himself, Richard Smith understands the challenges of rebuilding a life and finding a fresh start. Transformed by faith in Jesus and driven by a belief in second chances, he and his wife Valerie founded Hope Seals LLC - a sealcoating business that supports the employment and well-being of individuals previously entangled in the justice system. Born out of faith and passion for their community, Hope Seals has grown into a full operation with a team, a facility, and a mission that reaches far beyond the work itself.

Hey Hope Fam! We’re backkkkk

Okay okay… we know—we’ve been a little quiet over here.
But it’s for a GOOD reason...

We’ve been BUSY:
➡️ Moving into our new shop
➡️ Kicking off the season
➡️ Already into WEEK 2 on the pavement (!!)
➡️ And patching like CRAZY these last couple weeks

Did winter do a number on your pavement?
We’ve been seeing it everywhere—cracks, potholes, rough spots… all of it.

And honestly… we’re having the BEST time doing it.
Meeting new customers, making new friends, and getting back out there.

Every year feels special, but something about this one feels different.
Fresh season. New space. New momentum. Same mission ❤️

We really believe this is going to be our best year yet.

And we promise—we’re showing up on here more this season 🙌

From the Hope Seals Family to Yours — Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!
As we look back on this past year, we are truly overwhelmed with gratitude. Because of loyal customers & partners like you, Hope Seals was able to continue our mission of reliable asphalt maintenance and meaningful second-chance employment for men returning from incarceration.

In 2025, thanks to your support, Hope Seals:
• Served over 300 customers with high-quality asphalt maintenance and restoration
• Provided job training, fair wages, and ongoing support to more than 25 men rebuilding their lives
• Served 800+ meals to men working with us
• Supported continuing education programs & financial literacy campaigns
• Celebrated men coming off parole, supporting their families, getting baptized, obtaining driver’s licenses, and purchasing their own vehicles
• Entered multiple prisons to participate in mock-interviews and re-entry support initiatives

Your business and partnership plays a direct role in these life-changing outcomes, and we could not do this work without you. We are deeply thankful for our repeat customers, our community’s faithful commitment, and the partners, allies, and friends who stand with us year after year.

Looking forward, we are believing for even greater impact through our charitable arm, Hope Stays. We have a commitment from the local land bank for a donated home that will become our first re-entry housing project. With the resources to rehabilitate it, this home will offer life-giving stability & support to the men we serve.
