The black window frames didn't happen by accident.

They repeat through every room at Eighth Avenue Elegance, tying together white oak millwork, a waterfall quartz island and black pendant lighting in the kitchen. Down the hall, sage green cabinetry in the butler's pantry and a navy vanity in the laundry room bring in color without breaking the palette, while a black metal stair rail carries the same detail all the way up through the home.

It's the kind of consistency that makes a big home feel considered from every angle.

The living room wall doesn't so much open as disappear.

At Innis Arden, the great room stretches straight out to the deck when the glass doors slide back, so the water and mountains stop feeling like a view and start feeling like part of the room. That same weightlessness carries up to the cantilevered second story and down to a glass-enclosed w**e room built for slow evenings and good company.

It's proof that a well-designed home doesn't compete with its view. It works with it.

It's Project Manager Month at Alair, and this week we're spotlighting Kevin Haines, project manager at Alair Kirkland.

Kevin's passion for construction began in high school, helping build his family's beach house on Camano Island, a project designed by Mithun that sparked his interest in modern architecture and building. He holds a degree in Business and Construction Management from the University of Washington and has worked across commercial construction, high-end residential projects and plat work and developments. He's purchased land, designed and built spec houses and has experience building both ultra-modern and traditional homes.

Kevin thrives on the fast-paced, time-sensitive culture of construction, and being a morning person helps him jump right into the day's challenges. What he's most passionate about is collaborating with like-minded, creative and motivated individuals, turning napkin sketches into finished projects.

Outside of work, Kevin spends his time backpacking and mountain biking.

Project managers like Kevin are often the face of Alair for homeowners throughout a project, and this month is about recognizing that.

Tag someone who brings this kind of dedication to everything they do. Or if you've worked with Kevin or the team, drop a comment below, we'd love to hear from you!

Not all surfaces are created equal, and neither are the ways we live on them.

Choosing between countertop and surface materials comes down to more than color. It's about how the space is actually used, the cooking, the cleanup and the years of wear that follow. Fewer seams, easier maintenance and a finish that still looks new years from now all matter, along with choosing a professional who can install it well.

Alair sat down with Andrea Franco of Cosentino to get her take on it, and our design team at Alair Kirkland walks homeowners through decisions like this one on every project.

This kitchen hits all the right notes; big, welcoming island, white oak cabinets, and a light, airy feel that still feels grounded. Perfect for cooking, gathering, or just hanging out. And the pantry? A little green oasis tucked away where it’s out of sight but always within reach.

It’s all about spaces that feel effortless, built for real life, and designed to make every day a little better.

Blue skies overhead, boats on the water and evergreens lining the shore. Around Seattle, some of the best days are spent with the horizon in view.

Here, city life and time on the water exist side by side, with islands, coastlines and the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest always within reach.

A different way of life, shaped by the water, the landscape and the places that make Seattle home. Another beautiful corner of the network.

Nineteen years ago, Alair Homes made a promise: Living Better Starts Here®. Not just for the homeowners we build for, but for the people who show up to build.

That belief is what turned one idea into a network of builders across North America, including our team right here in Kirkland. Nineteen years in, we're not slowing down. We're just getting started.

How do we continue to learn, improve and raise the standard of what we do?

For Alair’s project managers, it starts with understanding the details behind the build. Why building assemblies work. How materials and construction methods perform in practice. And how the right processes and decisions can influence the outcome of a project.

At our 2026 PM Summit in Denver, these questions were at the center of hands-on building science training, technical discussions and workshops. Project managers explored real-world construction challenges, examined different approaches and gained insights they can apply to their work in the field.

Our vendor partners brought another valuable perspective, sharing their technical expertise, product knowledge and experience from across the industry. These conversations created space to ask questions, exchange feedback and explore solutions to the challenges our teams encounter on projects.

Ultimately, improving how we build requires more than experience alone. It takes curiosity, a willingness to challenge what we know and a commitment to continually refining our approach.

That’s the value of investing in technical knowledge and bringing industry expertise into the conversation.

Good morning from .

One of the most intentional features of this home is how natural light moves through every space, it was meticulously planned and executed.

Working with top architects, we captured sweeping views of Lake Washington while making sure every structural detail supported the vision.

At every step, the craftsmanship reflects a commitment to thoughtful design and effortless living. This is what it means to build with purpose.

Alair’s Project Management Summit is where Alair’s Project Managers come together across North America to learn, share, and build better ways of elevating project delivery.

With Project Managers from across Canada and the U.S., PM Summit creates a unique opportunity to exchange ideas, learn from industry experts, strengthen processes, and bring practical insights back to our local teams and projects.

Our vendor partners play an important role in that experience. This year, we were proud to welcome Kohler, LG, SKS, Lutron, Mbrico, Cambria, Aquor, Sugatsune, Builders’ Insulation, VintageView, Overwrap, Henkel, and Rinnai as partners in bringing our PM Summit experience to life.

From product knowledge and technical education to conversations around installation, quality and project delivery, these partnerships give our PMs access to expertise and resources that support better outcomes for our homeowners.

Thank you to our partners for investing their time, knowledge and expertise in the Alair network — and to our Project Managers for continuing to learn from one another and push our industry forward.

This is what makes PM Summit different: a national network coming together to build a stronger way forward.

Project Managers, this one’s for you.

The people behind the builds are getting together, and Project Manager Summit is almost here.

A few days to step away from the day-to-day, share what’s working, talk through what isn’t, learn from the people doing it alongside you, and strengthen the network that makes Alair what it is!

Bring your questions. Bring your ideas. Bring the stories from the jobsite.

We’ll see you at .

Back-to-school season has a way of highlighting how well a home works for the people living in it.

A place to drop backpacks at the end of the day. A dedicated spot for homework. Room to create, focus and stay organized when schedules get busy.

At , custom building and renovating means creating a home around the people who live there. The routines, the priorities, the personalities and the everyday moments all inform how a space should function.

These spaces across our network are a reminder that your home can be designed to work better for the way your family actually lives.

At the heart of every life is a vision: a picture of how you want to live, where you want to be, and who you want to become. Too often, people settle for what's next, instead of what's possible.

At Alair, your vision of the impossible can come to life - soaring mountain vistas, the serenity of Lake Okanagan, the whoosh of your wakeboard, and the sun on your shoulders; the crackling bonfire and the bubbling steam of a hot tub after a long day on the hill. Because when you define your vision, your retreat, your serenity, your possible - the rest will follow.

Live your life. Build your lifestyle.

Whether it’s the waterways, mountains, coastlines, cities, or communities beyond, the places we build are as distinct as the homes within them.

Across the network, our teams live and build in some of North America’s most remarkable landscapes; bringing local knowledge, relationships, and perspective to every project.

Here in the Carolinas, life is shaped by the landscape: winding waters, expansive marshes, and communities woven into the natural surroundings. It’s more than a backdrop. It’s part of what makes building here unique.

Over the coming months, we’ll be sharing more of the places our teams call home; and the landscapes that shape the way we live and build.

Today we’re celebrating . And following the theme of , today (and every day), we’re building space for JOY.

Joy is deeply rooted in everything we embody at Alair. Joy lives in the homes we build, the people who build them, and the communities we serve.

We find joy in…
- Gratitude
- Connection
- Movement
- Creativity

These four pillars are integral to living better. How do you build space for joy?
