Lancaster County Backyard Gazebos, Pergolas, Pavilions, Sheds, Timber Frame and Garages from the Lancaster County Amish Country !!! Our Outdoor Building History !!!

Founded by Abner King and his oldest son Ivan in 1978, Lancaster County Backyard LLC was started primarily to manufacture sheds. However in 1987 the outdoor gazebo was added to the line of backyard structures. In 2006 Steven and Calvin (sons of Abner) stepped into ownership with Ivan. The same year a fire destroyed the gazebo and shed facility. Although tragic, this forced them to build a better and bigger shop. The expansion inspired them to explore other types of outdoor structures. In 2008 two new lines of buildings, namely, wood and vinyl pavilions and pergolas, were added to the already existing line of outdoor gazebos in pa

A successful DIY pavilion build starts with planning before assembly.
We pulled together a few practical tips to help make the process feel more manageable from the start. Want to see how a real DIY timber frame pavilion came together? We shared the full project on the LCB blog. Link in the comments!!!
Permits, what comes with the kit, the tools and lifting equipment you’ll need, and how you want to finish the wood are all worth thinking through ahead of time.

Same backyard. Completely different way to use it.
Adding a pavilion gives this patio a defined place to relax, gather, and spend more time outside while still keeping the rest of the backyard open.
If this were your space, what would you put under the pavilion first? a lounge setup, dining area, outdoor TV, or something else?

You can have a beautiful patio and still feel like something is missing.
For this backyard, the answer was an 18×20 Grand Teton timber-frame pavilion, a structure that gives the patio a sense of place without closing it off from the surrounding yard.

The exposed timber, open gable, and covered seating area completely change how the space feels once everything comes together. This is why we love a good before-and-after: sometimes the biggest difference isn’t adding more space. It’s giving the space you already have a purpose.

When your backyard feels straight out of a movie.🧡🍂
We love this Kingston Pro Poolhouse because it creates a cozy place to relax, gather, and enjoy the outdoors without losing that open backyard feel.
It’s one of those spaces that just makes you want to stay outside a little longer.

Trust the process...The finished pavilion gets the attention, but every step before it matters too.
From the first pieces going into place to the final structure, this is what craftsmanship looks like in progress.
Thanks to our customer, Matt Warren, for sharing these build photos with us.

Four years later, this backyard tells the story better than we ever could.
These homeowners actually waited more than four years to send us their review because they wanted the landscaping to mature and the backyard to feel complete.
Their 20x22 poolside pavilion was a detailed project, carefully planned to fit just inches from an existing fireplace and outdoor kitchen. From the early planning stages through installation, every detail mattered.
Years later, the pavilion is still at the center of a space their family uses to gather and celebrate—and since then, they’ve trusted us again to add a pool house to their backyard.
There’s something especially meaningful about seeing a project years after installation and knowing it became exactly what it was meant to be.
Projects like this are why the details matter.
