Last week, Reeves County Emergency Service Districts Nos. 1 & 2 celebrated the grand opening of Fire Station 4 and Training Center in Pecos, Texas. The new campus pairs a fire station with a state-of-the-art training facility including classrooms, mock emergency room, driver-training areas, and commercial and residential burn buildings - preparing first responders for real-world environments they need to prepare for anything.

Thank you to Reeves County ESD 1&2 for trusting us with another chapter of this multi-facility partnership. Our team is proud to have delivered this campus alongside; Cerris Builders, G2 Solutions Group, Matrix Structural Engineers, and Maverick Engineering.

Mansfield's new two-story Fire Station 1 turns a tight, downtown-adjacent lot into a source of community pride, maintaining the long heritage of the city's first fire station. Martinez Architects is grateful to have had the privilege to collaborate with the City, the Fire Department personnel, and Crossland Construction.

The facility is focused on improving emergency response times while improving fire fighter health and wellness outcomes. Differentiated decontamination and clean zones are utilized to keep contaminants out of the living quarters, four glass bay doors open horizontally for better sightlines, and twin brass fire poles improve station turn-out times. The station houses eight private dorm rooms, two captains' suites, a fitness facility, and a second-floor patio, sleeping up to 11 personnel.

Martinez Architects is proud to work with Houston Police Department and the personnel of South Central Division to reimagine the existing public works facility as a resilient civic landmark that will strengthen the relationship between public safety and the community it serves.

Strategic structural enhancements, a high-performance building envelope, upgraded building systems, and resilient site infrastructure extend the life of the facility while reducing environmental impact. Beyond operational efficiency, the design creates a dependable civic resource that supports officer wellness, improves emergency response capabilities, and fosters public engagement through an accessible, community-oriented presence.

AIA Houston – Latinos in Architecture are exceptionally proud of the success of Nuestro Ambiente: Latinos Shaping Houston. The exhibition and its creators were honored with a State of Texas Proclamation from State Representative Christina Morales, celebrating the exhibition's cultural impact and the architects, designers, and community leaders who have helped shape Houston's built environment.

Martinez Architects is proud to have supported and assisted in leading the event alongside the Latinos in Architecture Committee. Congratulations to everyone whose vision, leadership, and collaboration made Nuestro Ambiente: Latinos Shaping Houston such a meaningful and impactful exhibition.

Last week, Reeves County ESDs 1 & 2 celebrated the grand opening of Station 3 in Balmorhea. The 16,570 SF station brings faster response times and dedicated infrastructure to one of West Texas's most rural stretches. Our team is proud to have delivered this for the community alongside Cerris Builders, DBR , Maverick Engineering, Structural Engineers, and Combs Consulting Group.
