🔧 SO WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED?

Garage door torsion springs are responsible for counterbalancing most of your garage door’s weight.

These springs are under tremendous tension, and every time your garage door opens and closes, they’re put through another cycle of use.

Over thousands of cycles, the metal gradually fatigues until eventually the spring can break.

When that happens, the sudden release of stored energy can produce an extremely loud BANG!

🚨 HERE ARE 5 SIGNS YOUR GARAGE DOOR SPRING MAY HAVE BROKEN:

1️⃣ A Visible Gap in the Spring

Look above your garage door. If you see a noticeable separation in the coils of a torsion spring, that’s a clear indication it has broken.

One of the biggest concerns homeowners have when their garage door starts acting up is how much it’s going to cost to fix.

And unfortunately, some people assume that once their garage door starts having problems, replacing the entire thing is their only option.

But that’s simply not true.

At The Garage Door Guys, we’ve seen plenty of garage doors that looked like they were on their last leg but only needed a relatively simple repair to get them operating properly again.

HERE ARE A FEW EXAMPLES:

🔧 1️⃣ A Door That Won’t Open

A garage door that suddenly refuses to open doesn’t necessarily mean the opener has failed or the entire door needs replacing.

It could be a broken spring, a disconnected opener, an engaged manual lock, or another repairable issue.

🔧 2️⃣ A Door That’s Crooked or Moving Unevenly

Sometimes a door starts leaning, binding, or moving unevenly because of damaged rollers, cable problems, or worn hardware.
