Thoughtful architecture is about creating spaces that feel like they've always belonged.

For this Willow/Woodstock, NY home, we designed two seamless additions that expanded both the home's functionality and its connection to the surrounding landscape. A private primary suite offers a peaceful retreat, while a detached garage with finished living space above provides endless flexibility for a home office, studio, guest suite or future ADU.

By carefully matching the rooflines, proportions and exterior materials, the additions blend naturally with the original home, creating a timeless design that feels cohesive from every angle.

Bonus: This incredible home is now for sale with the Upstate Curious Team at Compass .

🪟 Behind every great window is great flashing.

We had the pleasure of hosting a window flashing demo today at our Green St. Retrofit project in Uptown Kingston. Huge thanks to Nate Priputen, CPHC, manufacturer representative from SIGA North America, for walking us through the proper installation process using SIGA's high-performance flashing products.

Sequencing matters with three types of tape - Rissan, Wigluv and Fentrim. One airtight assembly. Thanks again, Nate, for helping us stick with it!

🏡✨ Small footprint. Big character. Our is a compact 24' x 24' residence designed to live much larger than its size. Inspired by historic carriage houses and barns, the home features two bedrooms, two bathrooms, radiant floor heating and an open-concept living space crowned by a dramatic cathedral ceiling.

Inside, warm pine ceilings, crisp white walls and custom details create a bright, inviting atmosphere. Outside, a private upper deck with a hot tub offers the perfect place to unwind.

And the hidden gem? A cozy loft complete with a skylight that transforms into a balcony for two overlooking the Rondout… A one-of-a-kind retreat with spectacular views.

We’re excited to share the completion of our project with Kingston Standard for their brewhouse and cellar expansion in Midtown Kingston.

Kingston Standard’s expanded production facility now occupies the former Sunshine Market building, transformed through a full renovation and carefully considered addition. This 5,000 SF project includes expanded milling, brewing, fermenting and shipping operations, along with a drive-in cooler, staff breakroom, bathroom, storage and offices.

Within the renovated brewery space, we preserved and refined the original metal factory windows, along with the existing wood ceiling and exposed steel structure - now unified by a bold safety-yellow finish carried consistently across all metal elements and contrasted by bright blue wall accents.

The addition features a two-story-tall volume defined by raised-heel scissor trusses and a pale wood ceiling finish, bringing warmth to the space and showcasing Marvin Windows.

The exterior is clad in standing seam metal, complementing the restored brick façade of the original building.

We’re proud to see this adaptive reuse project come to life - brewed right in the heart of Kingston!

In this Green St interior tour video, historic referencing is the name of the game. We draw inspiration from existing forms and historic elements while preserving and refurbishing salvaged pieces whenever possible.

Here, we explore flooring finishes that trace former wall lines, along with a Mamie Pink bathroom fixture that’s ready for a glow-up.

You really enjoyed our Green St. video tour of the exterior last week, so we thought we’d take you inside for a quick update.

Step inside to see a striking new second-floor cathedral-ceiling addition that reveals the original Cape Cod roofline and offers spectacular views down John and Green Street. And yes - this will be available for rent once complete.
