I  started this business in Knoxville, TN in 1981 having managed what was then, Bruner Shooters Supply in the same location.  Long story short, the owner wouldn't allow me to do the job he hired me to do, changed the name of the business and declared bankruptcy.  That's when I decided to start th...

To anyone in the metro Nashville area, I will be there this afternoon making deliveries, and I will also be there on Thursday doing the same. If you've found a safe that works for you, we can get it delivered this week.

It's interesting that a former employer of a safe company in Nashville actually gave me free advertising and confirmed just how much we can save our customers on the delivery of the safe of their choice. Even if you buy from that outfit, we can deliver your safe for a fraction of what they will charge. That is typical with EVERY safe dealer out there. It's strictly a volume thing for me and the fact I know tricks that most have never heard of. There is no such thing as safe moving school, and I am redneck Egyptian!

At this point, we will be in the Nashville area at least once every two weeks, and any point between Kingston and Nashville can be handled during this and subsequent time periods. Just give me a call, and I'll put you on the schedule.

Okay, friends and customers, I just had a conversation with a customer who bought a safe many years ago which reminded me of something I feel compelled to share. This is not an attempt to sell you anything, and it will make many safe manufacturers angry. It won't be the first time I've pi**ed of a manufacturer for being 100% honest with those who trust me to make sure their valuables are protected.

This has to do with any safe which has a Sargent & Greenleaf electronic lock. I've sold thousands of safes with these locks, but you need to know this. Contrary to anything I have ever been told, there is a master code that will open ANY of these locks. In fairness to all concerned who sell these locks, most simply do not know.

It came to my attention when I had a customer (who I know personally) tell me he could open the safe I had on display in the store. I actually laughed at him and thought he assumed the safe had the 123456 # factory default. It didn't as I keep safes with e locks locked and have my own combination programmed into them. I was absolutely shocked when he opened that safe.

This guy is ex special forces military, or at least someone who was in a highly specialized area. The code was far longer than the standard digit code. He didn't let me see what he entered, and to his credit, he wouldn't tell me, even though he knows I could get the factory override code and open it myself. Did that surprise you? He had taken an oath of secrecy and was never even allowed to write down this sequence or put it into any type of electronic device. He had to memorize it, and it was probably 20 or more digits long.

Bottom line is, you are at risk if you own one of these locks. The risk is very small, but it can not be denied.

Given the fact I was at death's door with COVID pneumonia on the date it happened, and it's taken a wile for the fog to clear, I am just now making a post commemorating our 40th Anniversary.

Now that I'm at 87.635%, I have started a massive advertising campaign which includes Facebook (unless the word gun scares them) Google, and Get Local out of Knoxville. I'm sure you'll be seeing Southern Security beyond this post, but here is the new updated website that will give you an idea of where this is headed. The ad below will be 1/2 page in Get Local, and it will be on the backside of the cover. People WILL see it.

Southern Security was a coast to coast business from day 1, and we are taking it back to that level, not that it ever really left it, but things have definitely changed where safes and China are concerned. In other words, if you can't beat them, make money off them, and save my customers a ton of money. That is something we have been doing for over 40 years now.

One of these days, I'll have to do something with this page, but announcing my 35th business anniversary today is as a good a place as any to start. Thanks for those of you who have made this possible.
