Favorite tree: Katsura (Cercidiphyllum japonicum) this one is seed grown and has spectacular fall color. The changing leaves have the most amazing burnt sugar fragrance. I planted some along my driveway and it smells wonderful once you hit the property.

Autumn is here 🍁 Last Saturday we created the coolest succulent pumpkins at Friends & Neighbors Brewing in Kingston. It was so much fun!

Festive fall decor that lasts for months and turns into houseplants when the season is over? That’s my kind of arrangement.

Favorite apple variety? That would be Braeburn for me. I grafted this tree in high school! It stays quite small in its pot by the front door. I have to keep it protected from becoming deer and bear snacks.

I had so much fun building this succulent pumpkin! The moss is hand collected from my own property and I grew every single plant. The best part of making these: the succulents root right into the moss - so you are blessed with many new baby succulents. I have hardy options for outside gardening and tender varieties we treat as houseplants during the cold and wet seasons. There are a few spots left and I’d love to see you there! My cozy morning teatime spot looks right out to the garden and birdbath. Now that I’ve added a new suet feeder, the visitors are more diverse. Some share space, wait in a queue, some shoo others out! I had to share this chickadee and woodpecker duo. They were both patient and kind to each other. Don’t get me started on blue jays.
